Nonna’s Brunch - A Cozy Haven for Brunch, on the quaint Carrer de les Caputxes in Barcelona’s buzzing El Born district, Nonna’s Brunch is the kind of spot that feels like a warm hug from an Italian grandma, minus the guilt trip for seconds. We arrived on a sunny Saturday, fresh from the Picasso Museum, and claimed a prime terrace table overlooking the lively plaza. The vibe? Effortlessly inviting: rustic wooden accents, soft indie tunes, and a crowd of locals and expats chatting over steaming lattes. It’s that perfect blend of relaxed Gothic Quarter charm and feel-good energy, without the tourist overload. The brunch lineup stole our hearts (and stomachs). My partner’s Eggs Benedict arrived with poached perfection atop fluffy English muffins, drizzled in velvety hollandaise that begged for extra bites. I dove into the avocado toast, layered with slow-roasted tomatoes and a sprinkle of sea salt, plus a side of their marinated tofu salad that was smoky, tangy, and utterly addictive. Vegan pals raved about the mushroom toast, bursting with umami seasonings, and the fluffy pancakes with seasonal berries. Gluten-free adaptations? Seamless, thanks to their thoughtful menu. Paired with El Magnifico’s specialty coffee, rich and aromatic, it was brunch elevated. Service shines here: our server, Teresa, nailed recommendations with genuine enthusiasm, making us feel like regulars. Prices are spot-on (our feast for four: €75 with mimosas), and the fresh-baked cheesecake tempted us for dessert. Nonna’s isn’t just a meal; it’s a mood-lifter. If you’re craving delicious, inclusive brunch with soulful vibes, this is your spot. We’ll be back next visit, dreaming of those pancakes....
Read moreSooo let’s start with how elegant and upbeat the environment was in Nonnas. The music was perfect and will bring out memories from the 80s through current vibes with R&B, pop music, etc.! The inside was extremely clean, smelled fresh and very welcoming. A+ for the atmosphere.
The service was beyond amazing. Everyone spoke multiple languages and were extremely accommodating of my needs and desires! A++ service.
Quick disclaimer: I am not a foodie nor do I like exploring new foods. I’m extremely reserved with the things I eat.. so believe me when you read everything I have to say about this meal.
The food was the definition of fresh! From the French toast to the egg whites! And I want to take a moment to explain how delicious these egg whites were…. They tasted like there was a chicken in the back and the egg was fresh out the bird! They didn’t even have egg whites on the menu but still took the time out to separate the yolks! Listen… everything was delicious and the fruit smoothie was fresh and delicious as well! Sorry I drank the smoothie before a picture could be taken but A++ for the food.
Highly recommend Nonnas Brunch for everyone visiting...
Read moreAbsolutely adored my visit to Nonna’s Brunch! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had just stepped into Nonna’s cozy kitchen — the atmosphere is warm, quirky, gentle, and oh-so-inviting. It honestly felt like home.
I ordered the homemade pancakes with seasonal fruit (Granny Smith apples, mangoes, blueberries, and coconut flakes), served with their homemade jam and syrup — and let me just say, they were ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS. Fresh, fluffy, flavorful, and delicate, these pancakes were the ultimate “Sweet Treat” — exactly as the menu describes. They melted in my mouth and hit all the right notes!
I also added a side of scrambled eggs, which were creamy, perfectly cooked, and oh-so-satisfying.
What made this experience even more memorable were my servers, Teresa and Eddy. Both were beyond welcoming — warm, attentive, and genuinely insightful. Having them guide my brunch made everything feel even more personal. It was a treat just to interact with them, honestly!
I’m so glad I stumbled upon Nonna’s Brunch. It’s a gem, and I’d return in...
