The whole team were so nice and welcoming when we arrived, everyone smiled and said hello. We felt really well looked after. We had tried another restaurant beforehand and the maître d' was very unfriendly and said we had to queue for 40 mins in the rain to have a table. Thank goodness, because we found Bo De Boqueria instead!
The menu had lots of choice and we really enjoyed the tapas and paella we had. The cava sangria was lovely too.
Valeria is wonderful! She really made our night. All the little touches like noticing we were a bit cold in the air conditioning and turning it off and bringing us plenty of water and keeping the table clear when we finished, without making us feel rushed at all.
I wanted to have a liqueur after the meal and couldn’t make a decision, so went up to the bar to see what was available. I decided to just have a dessert and Valeria said she’d be bringing us complimentary limoncello. We were a group of 5 friends celebrating a 40th birthday, and when Valeria mentioned limoncello I said that would be perfect, it’s my best friends favourite and it’s her birthday! Next thing I knew Valeria brought limoncello and a beautiful chocolate brownie (also my best friends favourite dessert!) with a candle and we all sang happy birthday. It was so thoughtful!
I’d highly recommend this and thank you to Valeria and the whole team for...
Read moreThe good: The place has a good deco, with plenty of places inside or outside depending your preference. The service is a bit slow but was really friendly and helpful. The menu is in multiple languages (perfect for tourists) with local dishes and tapas with enough plenty of options for vegetarians and some vegan options. The i food quality is ok, and overall was a nice meal. The place is in an ally so the place was relax and quiet.
The not so good: The non-alcoholic beverages options are not so good. Also the prices are in the tourist category. The food was a bit under seasoned and overall ok, nothing special. I think the problem is that their menu is really long with some non-focused options like Spanish tapas, with pizza, with burgers etc.
Extra note: I got advice if sitting outside to not leave your cellphone on the table because sometimes people can pass by running...
Read moreWe recently visited this highly-rated restaurant in Barcelona that was a bit of a letdown. Despite its popularity, it seems the ratings were predominantly from English tourists, which might explain the disconnect in our expectations. We encountered a hiccup early on when we tried to change our order from seafood paella to chicken paella merely three minutes after placing it. Initially, the waiter refused, citing restaurant policy, which was quite frustrating. Thankfully, the chef noticed our predicament and kindly allowed the change. However, the order still wasn’t correct. On a positive note, the waitstaff were genuinely friendly, adding some comfort to our experience. Sadly, the paella itself didn’t live up to its reputation as 'the best ever.' It's a decent place, but it may be wise to manage expectations if you're a local or have a...
