So I always like to start with the positive. The food is 100% delicious 🤤 I highly recommend going, your taste buds will thank you. Be ready to spend some money if you want to try an assortment of dishes. We were 4 ppl and decided to share everything so we didn’t have to limit our ordering. You cannot go wrong with their ceviche. The clásico and Nikkei were perfection. Freshest seafood and fresh ingredients. Chucuito!!!! I could have licked the plate clean, the scallop emulsion was beyond 😋 there was nothing we ate that wasn’t well thought out, nicely plated and most important…delicious 🍽️ I wanted so badly to give them 5 starts, really the food alone deserves it. However, our waitress was so rude. The venue apparently has the 2 hour max table reservation, which to start with is so anti the Spanish culture of enjoying the experience, but if you are going to have this policy you need to train your staff to properly/professionally handle paying customers. 30 mins before the end of our two hours we were told we would need to leave soon. My friend tried to explain politely that we were out trying to enjoy our first team outting so could we be sat anywhere else, like the bar, to enjoy more drinks and dessert. Instead of the waitress handling it professionally we were told “you knew the 2 hour limit when booking, this is why we tell ppl to order all at once and not with space between appetizers and the main dishes, etc” once the tone was delivered it became frustrating that there was just no compromising like shoving us at a 2 seater just to continue spending money and enjoying our team dinner. We were also not convinced that on a Tuesday evening that our table was going to be filled at 10 on the dot. We decided to order our main dishes at 21:35, once again the waitress had to remind us to eat fast if we were going to put in the order. We took our time, if she was going to be rude then we decided to enjoy our paid for meal. What happened? the waitress lost complete paciencia with us and so another one covered us for the rest of the evening, she was lovely and professional. We appreciated the kindness even though by then it was clear we were not going to stand for being thrown out after spending 300 Euro! Needless to say 3 tables cleared around us and not a single one was reoccupied before we left at 22:45h. I don’t understand that type of approach with customer service. It was such tasty food, comfortable venue and the continual reminders to leave really tainted the experience. 5 stars for the food…I’m trying to end on a...
Read moreI had make reservation back in April for Friday lunch time, however being on vacation we have no time tables. Luckily, we managed to get reservations at 10:30 pm the following day. Also the restaurant closed at 11pm. The restaurant was full at the time.
Yakumanka has a lot to offer and made very good representation of our Peruvian food. Being Chinese-Peruvian, I had high expectations.
We ordered Cebiche Apaltado, Concha a la Parmesana, Anticuchos de Corazón and Tacu Tacu a lo Macho. Everything was excellent except for the Concha a la Parmesana. I grew up in Peru and I was accustomed to the traditional au gratin butter and Parmesan shavings. The cream, I thought it was overpowering the scallop. The Anticuchos were cooked to perfection, medium rare in the middle. I can say it was the best Anticuchos since my last visit to Peru in 2012. The Cebiche was equally good, although I would have preferred to order the classic Cebiche. I think the avocado did nothing to the dish and I was expecting the grilled octopus to be on top of the dish rather than mixed with the leche de tigre. It was my first time eating Tacu Tacu and it was excellent. The service was good, although it took at least 10 minutes to get the menus. All in all, a good experience, I only wished they had a squid ink risotto. That was my first experience with Gaston...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a Peruvian restaurant and I must say, it was a truly exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor was beautiful and cozy, and the cleanliness was top-notch.
But what really impressed me was the attention and care that the staff gave to each and every customer. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, and made some great recommendations. And when my husband's food was delayed, the restaurant went above and beyond by giving us a delicious chocolate cake as a gift, even though we hadn't complained.
Now, let's talk about the food. The Lomo Saltado was hands down the best dish I had. The flavors were bold and perfectly balanced, and the meat was tender and juicy. The portion size was also very generous! We also tried the classic Ceviche and it was amazing as well!
Overall, I would highly recommend this Peruvian restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. The attention to detail, the warm and cozy atmosphere, and the incredible food make it a real standout. I can't wait to go back and try more...
