I booked a table after reading the reviews and on our way in, we passed another restaurant that had lines out the door and I wondered if maybe I should have booked there instead.
No, I made the absolutely right call. Metro Bistro is an unassuming restaurant but the white tablecloths, the correct lighting and the comfortable seating made us feel very comfortable.
We chose the tasting menu. At €39.50 for 7 courses we were more than intrigued.
Every single course was impeccably crafted and many challenged our taste buds with things we've never tasted until last night, like sea anemone fried over a seaweed salad. My favorite was the first course of tomato soup with a scoop of olive oil ice cream but every dish was perfect.
Our waitstaff were all kind, professional and humorous.
Many restaurants rush you through. Metro Bistro meticulously timed each course and we spent a glorious 3 hours marveling at each perfect dish. Make sure this is the only thing you book for your evening and sit back and enjoy it.
Go - book a table now and I promise you will not regret it. Thank you Metro Bistro for a most memorable night. I'm still full...
Read more10 of us came here for a meal as part one of my best friends hen do’s and we were treated like queens. We were served a 7 - 8 course meal + plenty of alcohol, sangria to start followed by free flowing wine which was promptly filled up as soon as our glass was empty, the food was amazing, the chef came out at the end to check we enjoyed our meal which was so lovely. The atmosphere was great and when we left the waiters all made an effort say fair well. We ended up spending about 3-4 hours in the restaurant as we enjoyed it so much and we were so well fed! A particular thanks to Florian I think was his name as he works so so hard, his English was brilliant and he always ensured our gluten free friends knew what they could and couldn’t eat and brought out an alternative dish for them when there was a course they couldn’t eat. I really really really recommend...
Read moreWhat a fantastic place! As soon as you will go in, you will be welcomed and greeted. Started with a refreshing gin and tonic - very generously served. Followed with a foie grass - very nice portion for that price. Was well done served with a not to sweet orangeish' cream and miniature bites of marmalade. Continued with the grilled Tuna served with seaweeds and a light spicy sauce. I liked that the spiciness was not overtaking the good flavours of the grilled Tuna (that was perfectly made, by the way). I drank a white refreshing wine with that and it came out perfectly! Finished with a double espresso and a coconut mango desert. Not too sweet and a great combination between tenderness and crunchiness. Its not your typical Spanish place and it's not cheap, BUT, if your looking for good interesting food at a good price - that's a place you should...
