So I was visiting Madrid in July and has the most horrible experience at this restaurant. Every time we travel, we like to visit some of the five star restaurants because I don’t mind spending the money on good food.
When we walked up to be seated with our six-year-old son, the hostess (Yaritza C.) is what it said on the receipt. looked at us as if she was too good to Service.
Before she came over to address us, she began to whisper to one of the waiters as they both snickered amongst each other . It took her five minutes to come over to seat us.
Also, might I add the restaurant had just opened and was completely empty.
From that moment on, she (along with the man she stickered with) was extremely rude and treated us as if we were the homeless people off the street.
Incredibly unprofessional and downright rude. If I couldn’t afford the meal, I wouldn’t of sat down. And now I wasn’t in a fancy outfit. It was the middle of July in the dead heat of Madrid summer. But I looked app for having lunch on the outside patio. So did my family.
So we continue to order our drinks and while we were waiting for a drink, they brought us some bread with the side of hummus. They simply placed it in front of us, and then brought our drink, saying nothing. So we figured it was something that was offered as a, courtesy like some restaurants too will bring out bread or chips and salsa things of that nature. Only to find out that they had charged us for this dish of bread with a side of hummus. Which was definitely delicious, but yet not ordered or asked for.
Then we received our bill and on that bill was a charge for 1099 for that dish of bread and hummus they brought out to us. And they decided to add another $10 onto our receipt and bill of a forced tip amount. So an additional $20 euros was added to our bill without our approval. Incredibly deceitful and I would never go back to this restaurant. Beware to anyone who eats here and check your bill before you pay.
On the other hand, the food was absolutely exceptional and definitely deserved five stars for that. So big props to the chef, but those two employees, the woman hostess in the man who is a server/hostess should be fired for their dishonesty and lack of morality. Shame on you both!
I will not be back and every customer that comes to your restaurant should know about this.
I gave one star which I wish I could do zero for everything else besides the food. The food again was exceptional, but who wants to eat at a restaurant with...
Read moreNear Puerta de Alcala in Madrid, you can find authentic Japanese fare with Mediterranean influence that combines, forming innovative gastronomic delights that can please a wide range of palates. Natsuki, part of Restaurant Ramses.Life, means “seven moons”, and is a new take on Japanese cuisine.
My friend and I were excited to try Natsuki, and finally had the opportunity to meet there for dinner one evening. The restaurant design is truly unique, and according to our server, took three years of development before décor was finalized. The ceiling is painted with bright watercolors in blues, pinks, greens and oranges, while traditional cultural décor accents the modern touches.
I loved the King prawn tempura with spicy mayo sauce and shiitake mushroom, which was presented with a bed of bright green lettuce and an orange edible flower that brought out the colors of the sauce. There was just enough spice to keep me on my feet, with the tender, fresh prawns packing quite a punch.
He loved the blow torched tuna belly nigiri with spicy sesame oil the best, and claimed the seasoned sesame oil added the right level of heat and nuttiness. We also tried blow torched yellow-tail nigiri with aioli, which was fresh and delicious, which the aioli added creamy flavor that was perfect with the texture of the sushi. The same was true for the tiger roll, which is king prawn tempura with avocado and cream cheese, as the creamy texture of the avocado mixed with the prawns and crisp tempura delighted my taste buds.
To finish our meal, we each ordered dessert. I enjoyed brioche torrija with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, while his Mochi with mango ice cream, red berries and coconut foam was as beautiful as it was delicious. As if you needed more reasons to visit Ramses.Life, Natsuki comes highly...
Read moreNew Year’s Eve in Madrid? A complete and utter SCAM at RAMSES. Avoid this place at all costs—they are THIEVES and con artists of the highest order. We wasted €620 for 4 people on a night that was nothing short of a nightmare.
We had a reservation for 9:00 PM but only got inside at 9:30 PM due to a ridiculous queue at the entrance. That was the least of our problems. The real horror began when we realized that our booking for the so-called Crystal Room—which they market as an elegant space—was, in reality, the RESTROOMS of the venue repurposed as a “room.” Yes, the toilets. They didn’t even bother to remove the “Bathrooms ” sign on the staircase leading to it. An insult to anyone’s intelligence.
The “room” was an absolute disgrace: a tiny, claustrophobic space about 10 meters by 3, crammed with people. And to our shock, we discovered that the €620 we spent didn’t even include a table. The much-touted “10-course menu”? A selection of inedible, low-quality finger food that tasted like it came out of a trash can. I’m not exaggerating. The only place to sit was a single couch located directly in front of the restroom entrance, and we had to take turns sitting there because there wasn’t enough space for everyone. It was degrading.
But the cherry on top? After suffering through this disastrous dinner, we were charged €32 for a single cocktail. Yes, €32. And these weren’t premium drinks—they were watered-down disasters prepared by staff who clearly had zero experience behind a bar.
RAMSES is not just a terrible venue; it’s an organized scam. Shameless, dishonest, and completely disrespectful to their customers. Do NOT let yourself be ripped off. Whether it’s New Year’s Eve or any other day, stay far, far away...
