Tiki Taco — Restaurant in Madrid

Was really psyched to try the tacos and margaritas here, but was quite disappointed. There was a queue to wait to get in, which I was OK with. If the tacos are that good, then of course there's a wait, right? Not really. Tacos were tasty enough, but nothing mind blowing. My taco order was wrong as well, but the waiter could not understand what I was trying to tell him, so I just left it. The margarita was tasty as well but nothing out of this world (go to NMW for those). Their ordering system does not allow patrons already seated to add anything else to their order (so order those 5 extra margaritas if you're thirsty). You're expected to go wait at the end of a ridiculously long line to order 1 extra margarita. It's a bad system that could easily be fixed by having a 2nd ordering area for extras to those already seated and eating. Wished I'd gone to...

My husband and I learned about this restaurant from talking with a stranger, an American study abroad student, at a restaurant in Segovia. We had complained about substandard Mexican food in Madrid--because we're from Texas--and he recommended this taco bar owned by his Mexican friend. €1 tacos was too good a deal to pass up!

The bar is on a busy street in Madrid and had a good mix of local and international student diners. You place your order at the front register, grab a table, and they call your name to find you with your tacos. We visited for early dinner on a Thursday in late March.

These are excellent street tacos. We originally ordered 2 each but then went back to the register two more times and ended up with 10 tacos between us. A mix of pastor, barbacoa, and chicken. No food photos because we at them so quickly! Our total...

Tiki Taco - An Absolute Disaster

If I could give zero stars, I would. Tiki Taco just delivered one of the most pathetic excuses for customer service I’ve ever encountered. We stood in line for over 30 minutes, along with at least 30 other people, only to be told—without warning—that the kitchen was closed. No signs, no announcements, no consideration. Just a complete waste of everyone’s time.

What made it worse? The staff couldn’t have cared less. They were rude, dismissive, and totally unbothered by the fact that they had let dozens of people stand there for nothing. No apology, no explanation, just pure indifference.

This place clearly has no respect for its customers and no clue how to run a business. I wouldn’t go back if they were giving food away for...
