Really disappointing and overpriced meal here this evening. This restaurant is clearly a tourist trap and I’d recommend avoiding it 1.The bread course was thrust upon us without asking. We didn’t want this but there was still a €7 charge added to our bill. We ordered the John Dory with fried onions. Nowhere on the menu did it say the fish itself was fried. I don’t even understand why you would fry such a delicate fish? Neither my partner or I believed that the fish was actually John Dory, it could have been anything and the fish, which was 85% fried onions, was definitely not worth £30 We also ordered the mixed paella for two and both agreed it’s the worst paella we’ve had in our life. There was absolutely no flavour or depth to the dish, I couldn’t see any hint that saffron was used and the fish and meat was sparse and bland. My partner felt that the chicken tasted frozen. The paella wasn’t served in a big dish in front of us but quickly shown to us and then taken aside to be plated up. I don’t even know if we were given the full serving When we asked for the bill, at no point where we asked if we enjoyed our meal or offered the chance to raise these concerns. Granted it was all edible but definitely not worth over £80 for the food mentioned above. We both left feeling incredibly disappointed. We should have known by the weird fish smell that came as we walked to the restaurant but this place is clearly a tourist trap and we would suggest...
Read moreI want to share my terrible experience at Ca n'Eduardo. This is the first time in my life that I have been charged for things I’ve never ordered. We ordered a plateau of fish and shellfish, wine, and water. For two people it was around 100 €. While making an order waiter made an impression that we were not important to him as he wanted to rush and serve another table when the restaurant wasn’t even complete, and there were like four servers standing at the bar and chatting. After we ordered, we saw that the team was laughing among themselves and giving those judgemental looks at our table. To be honest, that made me uncomfortable. We received the food, and it was delicious. However, while serving us food, the waiter could barely hold his laughter. After that, we asked for the receipt, and at first it appeared to be the wrong one. We were asked to wait until the server brought another receipt. After 10 minutes of waiting, the waiter came with a new receipt and the final amount was much bigger, but we have paid and left the restaurant. Later at home, I saw that the check we got added olives and bread, which we did not even consume. After that, I became furious, because for dinner we paid more than 100 € and to see small charges on the receipt that were never served and consumed is just unacceptable for a restaurant of that level. Very unprofessional!
PS. Check your receipt before you pay, as there might be a lot of extras that you have...
Read moreI usually don't write reviews on restaurants, but my experience at this restaurant in Palma was so poor that I felt compelled to share. My family of nine visited this place based on a recommendation from our hotel, expecting great seafood. Instead, we were met with the worst service I've ever encountered in my years of traveling.
From the moment we walked in, the staff treated us as if they were doing us a favor by letting us dine there. There was no warmth or hospitality, only a sense of disdain and arrogance. They made us feel unimportant and uncomfortable, with not a single smile to be seen and attitudes that bordered on snarkiness.
It was evident that the staff took pride in their rudeness, seemingly debating amongst themselves about who had to serve us and displaying stiff, unwelcoming faces throughout our meal. It felt like they were giving us food for free, such was their disdain.
Given the number of similar complaints I've seen about their service, it appears this is a common issue and not an isolated incident. I cannot understand how they remain in business with such a poor approach to customer service.
Restaurants are about the entire dining experience, and good service is just as important as good food. Unless you fall in their preferred clientele category or have a desire to feel humiliated, stay away...
