I went for breakfast one morning and the place is really nice, the lady working there super friendly and the quality very good. I only leave three stars as I am unfortunately seeing the progress in Palma to become in very short time super expensive. I have been living in Spain for 26 years of which 8 in Palma and I used to love to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Now i am more and more speechless how prices are going up and up - probably down to the massive amounts of tourists and internet nomades who are willing to pay this and can. Yes the food and quality was good, but the portion was absolutely far too small for that price (14.-⬠not including a drink), it was more a side bowl and I left still hungry and not so happy. I just know the difference and to see what is happening it is quite sad. Residents here do not earn so much money, the salary is lower than in mainland Spain and bars and restaurants should consider that as well, it is not all about tourists, people are living here and can not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place looks very classy and cool on Instagram, but the reality is very different. In person itās actually very small, pokey, and only has a handful of tables ā not at all what the online image suggests.
When we arrived, the server directed us to a table with our two young children (one just eight weeks old) and we waited. No one came to take our order, and after quite a while we went to ask for a coffee ā only to be told we could have one, but only if we moved tables. The waiter had already interacted with us and didnāt raise an issue. We had 2 small children one of who was sleeping.
The space felt cramped, not particularly clean, and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. Overall, it didnāt live up to the image it promotes online, which made the experience especially disappointing.
In the end, we went around the corner to CafĆØ Es Pes de sa Palla ā which was fantastic: better value, a much nicer space with proper air conditioning, and genuinely friendly service. A completely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately you are not allowed to sit on a table with your laptop even though you order food. I understand that they are afraid of digital nomads spending hours there occupying tables all day with only drinking coffee, but I said Iād like to eat as well and they said this is only possible at the bar if I decide to have my laptop open. The bar is not comfy to eat. But I went to the bar, spent one hour, did not get asked once if Iād like to order more (which I would have liked) and during my whole stay minimum of 3 tables were free. I offered to leave the table immediately if it gets full. Wasnāt negotiation able. That 2 of 3 tables were dirty for 45ā also didnāt bother them much.
I think there are better solutions out there. For example minimum consumption or time limits. This was just really an...
