Sa Trobada — Restaurant in Palma

Worst restaurant experience of my life. The place had nice reviews (4,2) so we had hopes for our lunch. The menus were dirty and the paper had turned yellow in the industrially lit restaurant.

I ordered the meatballs (7,5€) and so did my friend, my other friend ordered chicken nuggets. Both of the meatball orders were cold. The type of cold that makes you feel the meatball slowly making its way into your stomach. The meat was grey and grounded to a very fine level.

It was the first time I ever sent back food, since it was cold, and my friend had to send his back twice to get it at least a little bit hotter. The last time we heard the familiar sound of the microwave PLING and the food came out. The marinara sause had exploded on the plate and was even covering the underside of the plate which is pictured in the photograph.

We tried to get a discount or at least a coffee for the meals that was probably going to make us food poisoned but the saff was rude and unprofessional. It took the waiter 10 minutes to come back to our table after he left the bill, even though the restaurant was pretty much empty.

I wouldn’t wish this food experience to my worst enemy and I am confused with the 4,2 rating. I hope this tourist trap gets shut down...

I really tried to avoid a tourist trap and the reviews said it wasn't. Ended up feeling like one... I ordered the menu, and the 2 dishes I got honestly felt like American public school lunch. My first "dish" was pretty much just a cup of noodles in a bowl. Simply not high quality. And I have pretty low standards when it comes to food too which should say something. Bread was stale, and I was charged without notice for some cheap butter. Not worth the price, or at least when I was there for the menu. At least it filled me up. Maybe just don't order their menu deal thing maybe the individual items are actually quality...

We stopped for some tapas intrigued by the locals sit inside. We went for the "Mixto Mallorquin" (or sth similar), a dish with different tapas typical of Mallorca. In the end it was a simple and very tiny set of the most common Spanish tapas like tortilla or albondigas. Nothing had the appearance nor the taste of a good quality local food, even for a bar.
