Viu Restaurant — Restaurant in Palma

Palma was throbbing. It was a Saturday and the evening when the art galleries were open to the public. Entering the hotel and the courtyard restaurant, you could feel the stress and the crowds vanish. What a beautiful and peaceful setting in the courtyard of the hotel with the most beautiful palm tree. Antonio was our stylish and attentive server who made the evening. Service was excellent. Food - wise, it was by far the best in the week that we have been in Mallorca. The octopus was the standout. Juicy and crispy with prawns and potatoes in a rich tomato broth. I took a star from the service because of the rude bartender with the sullen attitude. I desperately needed a glass of water and while waiting for our server. I approached the bar to get one. Wow, you would have thought I was asking for his first born. It was a simple request for a glass of water, yet he handled it so very poorly. Thankfully, Antonio and the other servers and host made it really the best experience Good job everyone

Back in Mallorca in 2025 with friends for a birthday. We returned to Viu Restaurant for her special dinner and again it did not disappoint. Ambience in the courtyard, the delicious food and the gracious service spearheaded by Andres made it a magical evening. Thank you...

We were tonight the first time at the Viu on recommendation of a friend, who lives in Palma. Have to add that I work for more than 26 years in hospitality, many years as hotel director and cruise director on cruise ships (4 and 5 star).

We arrived at 22:45 to have a drink at the bar. We got the bar menu from the waiter with the comment "I don't want to rush you but we close at 23:30". We got the message 😉, nevertheless we ordered two cocktails. And at that time we have seen it with a smile.

The bar in a courtyard with a huge palmtree is super cozy, nice lounge music. Approximately the half seats were occupied. So still nice atmosphere.

We got our drinks 10 minutes later and exactly at 23:00 they have switched off the music. 30 minutes before closing. So they took it seriously to create a bad atmosphere to get the guests out.

10 minutes later we got a small wooden box with the check inside with the comment "We close in 15 minutes". They also could have told us, please pay and leave.

The cocktails were really good. Service? Not...

First place I’ve been to during my trip. I was a walk-in client with my wife. Asked for a table but i was told i had to wait to see if some other clients with booking would show up. Eventually we were offered a place at the bar while we waited. 30 minutes later, no one arrives and then i stand up and ask for the table. Before that, we could not get anything from the menu except the light appetizers ( extortionate prices btw ). My wife had a cocktail, it was not the best. The food was mediocre.

After sitting, we ordered. The main dish took FOREVER to get to the table and I thought it was from the kids menu as it was so small considering the price tag. All of this would have been okay if the food was delicious. Unfortunately it wasn’t.

This place is extremely overrated, very overpriced, food is not good and service is very slow. I’ve been around the world and I’ve seen bad places. This is on the top of that list. If you know your food and you know what good service is, avoid this...
