La Grifería Paella & Cocktails — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

Everything we tried at the restaurant was amazing. We sampled a variety of dishes, and each one was delightful in its own way. The paella was full of rich flavors, with perfectly cooked rice and a nice blend of spices. The grilled cheese was a comforting classic, with gooey cheese and crispy bread, making it a real treat. One of the highlights was the croquettes, which came highly recommended, and for good reason. They were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, simply delicious. Another unique dish we tried was the octopus hot dog, which was an interesting twist on a traditional favorite. It had a nice balance of flavors and textures that made it stand out.

The staff at the restaurant were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and checking in on us regularly. We came on a Tuesday afternoon to relieve our thirst and happened on one of the most pleasant surprises so far on the island! Fantastic cocktails! Both (Mirienda Canaria and La Galeria) were balanced and fresh with very refreshing and natural aftertastes. To eat we just got two tapas, grilled cheese with mojo verde and the nachos. Both were great! The grilled cheese was the classic Canarian goat cheese but grilled it tasted more intense. The mojo verde finished it off beautifully with a very herby taste that left us wanting more! The nachos were, as far as we could tell, self made and not store bought, which we haven’t come to expect anywhere, much less on a touristic island like Tenerife. Themselves they tasted great but they were finished with sour cream, guacamole and some mojo cream cheese. Service was very friendly and gave a sense of relaxation, which is not to be taken for granted since everywhere else waiters run around anxiously. Once in Tenerife, I went to Puerto de la Cruz specifically to try the delicacies of La Grifería and it did not disappoint! The location is great, near the city centre and the ocean. The place has a special vibe inside, with nice music (not too loud) and great taste of decoration. The owners and the personnel are very kind and passionate and they are dedicated to the customer’s experience. The entry food is super high quality: I tried the bao and octopus…just wow!! The chef is specialised in paella and makes competitions so it’s absolutely a delicious must try. Last but not least the cocktails! The owner is a top class worldwide, high ranked in competitions bar tender. The cocktails she makes are on another level of goodness.
