The Roof Burger Bar & Chillout Cocktails — Restaurant in Puerto de la Cruz

I ordered a mezcal old fashioned yet it was obvious they used some other alcohol, possibly a tequila (bars in the canaries like to refill bottles with cheaper alcohol to better profit, can't say if that's the case here, but it's something to be aware of). They tried to hide the fact from me by not only keeping the face of the bottle away from the counter when preparing the drink, but also when carefully placing the bottle back onto the display shelves (all other bottles display the label towards the counter). To add insult to injury, the "cocktail artist" proceeded to add a shot of vodka to it and add orange bitters. When I took the cocktail back to my table and started drinking it with disgust, the waiter was then kind enough to ask if it was good, to which I asked for regular angostura bitters, which made it slightly more palatable. I chose not to argue over this as I was trying to enjoy a night out with friends I hadn't seen in a long time. Got slapped with a 13eur bill for this drink (laughable), though cheap comparing to the gentleman who left the review about being charged over 20eur for a shot of regular whiskey. They don’t have a lot of good burgerjoints in Puerto de la Cruz but that does not mean they don’t know how to make a good one. This place serves premium burgers and offers good service. I wanted to have my burger with an fried egg and, because they use some sort of pressure cooker, they weren’t sure if would work but at least they were willing to try. And it really worked, so maybe they have put it on the menu by now. Pricing is reasonable but I would have like some more fries because now it just looks like they threw in some that was left in the basket.

Location is great, rooftop didn’t really do it for me so I was more that happy to sit streetside where there is much more to see anyway. Only thing is that they asked me to relocate because my table supposed to be reserved but during my service nobody showed up for that specific seat.

Nice place and cocktails in a rooftop of a hostal building. It has some drinks on top and some downstairs m, if you come a bit late you might not get a place since was already pretty full and there’s not so many tables. There’s a Dj playing music and the cocktails were pretty good.
