Last June I had the pleasure of dining at Kaffe Gillet in Stockholm, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The food was truly outstanding, and the service was top-notch.
Firstly, let me tell you about the marinated salmon. It was a burst of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The salmon was incredibly fresh and tender, and the marinade added a perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness. It was a true culinary masterpiece.
Next up were the meatballs, and oh boy, were they delicious. Each bite was a heavenly combination of juicy meat, aromatic spices, and a creamy sauce that complemented the dish perfectly. The lingonberry was the best combination with the meatballs. It was comfort food at its finest, and I couldn't get enough of it.
And finally, the rhubarb pie. This dessert was the perfect way to end my meal. The rhubarb was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of tartness, and the crust was light and flaky. It was a symphony of flavors that left me craving for more.
But it wasn't just the food that impressed me. The service at Kaffe Gillet was impeccable. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They made sure that every aspect of my dining experience was exceptional, from recommending the best dishes to ensuring that I had everything I needed.
Overall, Kaffe Gillet is a hidden gem in Stockholm. The food is simply outstanding, and the service is beyond compare. If you're looking for a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend giving Kaffe Gillet a visit. You won't be...
Read moreAmazing food with great prices, and the atmosphere is a cut above the rest. We stopped at Kaffegillet in January not long after New Year's. We tried the meatballs with mash potatoes and lingonberries as well as the salmon fillet with sauteed vegetables and herbal sauce. Both are incredibly flavorful and delicious. It was all so good that we ended up coming back before we had to leave Stockholm. The second time around we tried the reindeer roast with game sauce and blackcurrant jelly. Once again, Kaffegillet delivered a superior dish!
The staff is very friendly and the owner & I immediately struck up a conversation about his currency collection that's displayed all over the walls. He even helped me complete my own collection of Swedish currency. I sent a couple of bills from my own collection back as a thank you for his wonderful hospitality; hopefully they found a spot on the wall as well.
Kaffegillet is centrally located right next to the Nobel Prize museum and a very short walk from the Swedish Royal Palace. If you're in Stockholm, you need to come to Kaffegillet. It will be one of the best stops you make while...
Read moreThis place is a must do in the old town part of Stockholm. The first time we went here, we were on a Baltic cruise and had spent the morning walking all over and wound up here when we were too hungry to continue. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. While we were eating, the royal band members, who had just finished playing for the changing of the guard at the palace nearby, all came trooping in for their lunch. The downstairs of the restaurant had been reserved for them cause they apparently eat here every day.
That was several years ago. This time we were finishing up a few weeks in Europe going wherever they would have us during covid19, and we made a point of stopping by for dinner our last night in Stockholm. The food is still amazing and the service is still great. The owner says the band members still eat lunch there every day.
My husband had the swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes and lingonberry sauce, which he loved, and my son and I had the roasted reindeer with game sauce and vegetables that was outstanding. Highly...
