I booked a table at Mancini based on a ChatGPT recommendation — and what a pleasure it was.
From the moment I stepped in, I was struck by the welcoming atmosphere and beautifully stylish decor. This place is cozy, but not cramped; elegant, but not uptight. The kind of interior that makes you want to linger — and maybe ask for the name of the designer.
Service was excellent. I especially appreciated that my choice to skip alcohol didn’t trigger any awkward looks or unnecessary questions. That kind of graciousness is rare, and it made me feel genuinely welcome.
As for the food — nearly everything was spot on. The risotto? Just a touch too salty for my taste, but the texture was absolute perfection. And the grilled whole fish? Beautifully done. When we asked for vegan options, the staff reacted annoyed and came than up with the 'original idea' to make a pasta with fried vegetables. No further discription. No recommendations for starters, deserts etc. to be able to eat together with the rest of the group. Sorry but that doesn't feel italian for me at all where you always find great service and willingness from the whole team to give EVERYONE a great food experience. To come up with some italian dishes that are vegetarian or vegan (or can easily be adapted) shouldn't be too difficult in italian cuisine and for a fine dining place with such high reputation.
