Google Maps recommended this to me, at first I thought it would just be some boring old sushi. But it's an Izakaya-inspired curry place with some really awesome Ton Katsu Curry.
Will be going here a lot!
Edit: I'm sorry to say that I was so blown away by the food I came back the day after to get seconds. And seconds I got. The katsu (the fried cutlets served with the curry) was dry and tough. The panko breaded surface had lost any crunch and was mostly mushy. We could only assume that we were eating yesterday's leftovers.
The actual curry sauce was still amazing, but when I ended up eating around what should be the main attraction you get bummed out.
Changing from 5 to 4 stars, since the first visit was a curry to die for. Shame that this level of quality...
Read moreBased on the reviews, this was disappointing, as although the food wasn't awful by any means, but it's nothing like what tonkatsu should be like, it's more like a small schnitzel. The meat is way too thinly cut and not fatty enough to be tonkatsu. I believ they use rump rather than shoulder or loin. The curry sauce was ok flavour wise, but there wasn't enough of it (you can pay extra to get more sauce) and you never mix curry and tonkatsu sauce, like they do here, it's one or the other. The rice was pretty meh and the veggies didn't really go with the rest of the meal. For a place claiming to be the guardians of genuine Japanese flavours, it was disappointing. At least the price wasn't too crazy considering...
Read moreA lunch place that serves simple Japanese dishes, the menu is small but good enough for lunch. Overall the taste was “Lagom” but since the price was moderate and there are not so many places serving these dishes in Stockholm, I give a 4-star instead of 3. The Tonkatsu was properly made with crispy out layers and tender meat, matched perfectly with the curry sauce. The pork’s odor was totally removed, but the cut was a bit too thin and it almost tasted like schnitzel. Furthermore, they were not using Japanese rice, nor even short grain rice, which made the whole dish less tasty. I’d rather they increase the price and change to the short grain rice...
