Food: Excellent. We had the Marinated salmon with mustard and creamy chantarelle soup. I thought the marinated salmon would be the clear winner; it was large rich chunks of lightly marinated salmon and was amazing, but the chantarelle soup was so good. Creamy, rich, earthy, herby. My wife would have eaten the whole bowl by herself if I had not caught her and has asked me to figure out the recipe. For mains my wife got the salmon with saffron creme and it was phenomenal, subtle saffron at the end of a pleasant cream sauce. I went with the staff's recommendation of elk fillet and was extremely happy. The sauce and the vegetables they had prepared cut through the richness and gaminess of the meat and it had been cooked precisely as needed. Can't say enough good things. We also had the cloudberry ice cream which was so pleasant and refreshing after the rich meal.
Service: We had a passed out toddler in a stroller and wanted to keep him that way. We purposefully asked to stay inside on the cold night with all of us bundled. The staff did not mind and still came out frequently for drinks/refills and conversation. I cannot speak highly enough about how they met us where we were at and took great care of us.
Atmosphere: We cannot rank because we did not go inside as previously mentioned.
I think there are many restaurants to try in Gamla Stockholm but this is the one we will always remember. It was my best meal in Sweden this trip. Cannot wait...
Read moreThis restaurant is a cozy spot in Stockholm’s Old Town that specializes in traditional Swedish dishes, particularly game meats. I walked in on a Saturday night around 7:30 pm without a reservation, and while it was easy to get a seat then, it was fully packed by the time I finished—definitely a sign of its popularity. I tried their reindeer fillet, which was incredibly tender and practically melted in my mouth. The mushroom sauce was rich and flavorful, and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The potato dish topped with sweet cranberry jelly was interesting but not quite to my taste. The service was prompt and friendly, and they offer menus in both English and Swedish. The reindeer has a distinct, gamey flavor that sets it apart from beef or pork—definitely an intriguing experience for my first try. Overall, if you’re in Old Town Stockholm and curious about Swedish game dishes, this is a recommended stop. Expect to spend about $50 per person for a meal.

Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal. Missing out if you walked past this rather unassuming restaurant. I looked up restaurants in Stockholm wanting to try exotic meats then came across Restaurant C&C. I did not expect something this incredible as this was kind of a random choice. Everything was spectacular. I cant think of a single thing to criticise. The potato cake is incredibly amazing I dont know how. I am not sure if it is lard or duck fat or anything but it gives an extra umami. I am a sole traveller and I ordered the wild boar and the elk fillet. Both the protein were cooked perfectly, still tender with juices and were pinkish inside. The meats were gamey as expected but nothing really wow-y. The stars were the sides. Pumpkin puree, the potato and the mushroom sauce. Out of this world. Sure was costly but for me personally, it was worth for my experience as it set a new...
