La cittadella — Restaurant in Geneva

We stumbled across La Citadella by accident on our first night in Geneva and we were so glad we went in, as it really is a hidden gem! The restaurant is quite small - we were one of only two outside tables on the night we visited, which actually added to the experience as it made it feel like a quiet, intimate setting.

The food was incredible - we had a caprese salad and carpaccio to start which were both fresh and delicious. The mains were all fantastic as well with great flavour - I think the particular highlight was the duck ragout ravioli which went down an absolute treat, the sauce in particular. I also enjoyed a great mojito!

Our waiter was so friendly and personable and went through a lot of the menu with us, offering suggestions and answering questions. All through the service he was so helpful and really made the experience a great one!

I would definitely recommend La Citadella to anyone looking for a top-quality Italian...

I enjoyed my dinner here one evening. Reasonably convenient to my hotel (CitizenM). The service was friendly and attentive and the food and wine were good too. I managed to snag a table outdoors on a nice evening and perhaps not surprisingly (given I arrived when they opened) to find that the other patrons out there were all Americans.

Five star experience. I dropped in on a Tuesday evening. The entire menu is in French, which I don’t speak. Waiter walked me through the specials, when I didn’t see something I loved, he asked me what I liked. The chef offered up a beef dish that was fantastic.
