Visitaly — Restaurant in Geneva

Excellent centrally-located Italian restaurant in Geneva with a menu focusing on regional dishes that rotates every month. Great selection of pizzas as well as dishes of the day. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. The wine selection is quite good. The decor is simple and elegant with a mix of regular and high-seated tables. The presentation of the dishes is also simple and elegant, providing for a sophisticated feel. All of the above make for a great dinning experience.

I went for lunch for this review. I started with a bruchetta that came with tomatoes, melted bufala cheese and anchovies that was extremely tasty with all toppings on a lovely crusted bread that came right out of the pizza oven. I followed with the dish of the day which was rigatoni enveloped in a creamy pecorino cheese sauce elevated with cracked black pepper. The pasta was perfectly al denté and the sauce quite zingy. Finally there was desert, which was a variation on an apple crumble - a must try, it came as a chocolate shell shaped like an apple nestled on a bed of crumbles and with a delicate custard filling inside.

All in all, this is a great place to have lunch with friends or colleagues. It is best to reserve in advance, it can get quite busy specially at lunch time. And with the rotating menu, you truly get to enjoy a gastronomical journey through Italy every time you come back, fully justifying the restaurant’s name. Una settimana prima chiamo il ristorante dicendo di voler organizzare il compleanno di mio marito, esprimendo preferenza per la terrazza e parlando della possibilità di scegliere o torta alla frutta o tiramisù. Parlo con la proprietaria in persona. Lei mi da ampia disponibilità, mi dice che ancora non ha prenotato nessuno e le lascio il mio numero per mandarmi il menù tramite whatsapp dicendomi di scambiarci tutte le informazioni e la conferma lí. Io successivamente le scrivo, le confermo terrazza, menù scelto (con aperitivo e pizze da scegliere sul momento), numero di persone e torta alla frutta. Lei mi risponde dicendomi "perfetto, grazie"! Io, dopo una settimana, confermo ancora il numero di persone e chiedo il costo della torta alla frutta. Lei non mi risponde per tutto il giorno. Arriviamo la sera alle 18:30 al ristorante. La terrazza era ancora chiusa. Entriamo dentro, ci accolgono il proprietario e la proprietà e ci dicono che non risultava la prenotazione a mio nome e che non era possibile cenare in terrazza perché tutto occupato e che non era possibile neanche la torta alla frutta ma solo il tiramisù, che io non potevo mangiare. Panico. La proprietaria ammette il suo errore umano, non si spiega la cosa, ma ricorda tutto, anche la conversazione fatta al telefono. Ormai era troppo tardi per cambiare ristorante e stavano arrivano i nostri invitati. Ci mettono in una sala interna, dove siamo morti di caldo ma la cosa che più ci ha lasciato senza parole, è stato il conto super elevato per 6 persone e due bimbi ( un aperitivo e delle pizze, due bottiglie di vino) . Non solo, ma dall'inizio della serata, fino alla fine, quando siamo andati a pagare, e c'era la stessa proprietaria, non hanno mai, dico mai, chiesto scusa per l'accaduto. Poco gentili e veramemte caro (le bottiglie più economiche vengono 60/70 franchi) . Mai più. Peccato, perché i primi ed i secondi che abbiamo mangiato la prima volta che siamo venuti a mangiare in questo posto, erano buoni. Sono certa che migliorerete nell'organizzazione.

Une semaine avant, j'ai appelé le restaurant pour lui dire que je voulais organiser l'anniversaire de mon mari, exprimer ma préférence pour la terrasse et parler de la possibilité de choisir entre un gâteau aux fruits et un tiramisu. Je parle à la propriétaire elle-même. Elle me donne de larges disponibilités, me dit que personne n'a encore réservé et je lui laisse mon numéro pour m'envoyer le menu via WhatsApp pour le voir. Je écrirai par la suite au restaurant, pour confirmer tout (terrasse et gâuteau aux fruits).Elle répond en disant "parfait, merci" ! Au bout d'une semaine, je confirme encore. Elle ne me répond pas pour tout la journée. Nous arrivons le soir à 18h30 au restaurant. La terrasse était fermée. Nous entrons et ils nous disent qu'il n'y avait pas la réservation à mon nom et qu'il n'était pas possible de dîner sur la terrasse car tout était occupé et que même le gâteau aux fruits n'était pas possible. Panique. La propriétaire admet son erreur humaine, mais elle se souvient de tout, même de la conversation que nous avons eu au téléphone et des messages. Ils nous ont mis dans une pièce interne, où nous étions à bout de souffle mais, ce qui nous a le plus laissé sans mots, il était le coût super élevé pour 6 personnes et deux enfants. Enfin, du début à la fin de la soirée, lorsque nous sommes allés payer avec le même propriétaire, ils ne se sont jamais, je dis bien jamais, excusés pour ce qui...

Today was our 3rd time there since we chanced upon this new Italian place in Geneva back in summer. Every visit leaves us impressed and belly belly satisfied ;) during summer you can dine in their beautiful terrace with great atmosphere! When it’s colder their indoor restaurant has great ambience as well. Service is always superb! Great selection and recommendation of wine. Food is VERY GOOD. We love their pizzas and they do their main courses (meat/fish/pasta) incredibly well too. Good quality ingredients that’s worth the price you pay. This is definitely our new fav Italian spot and we highly recommend everyone Visitaly. Love that they change their menu...
