Osteria della Bottega — Restaurant in Geneva

Before I talk about the food, I want to say thank you to the waiter (I think he was manager though). We were about to leave after paying our bill but he stopped us because there was a mistake made in our bill and we payed a bit more than we were supposed to. He was very fast to identify the mistakes made in our bill and made corrections in no time. This restaurant has brilliant people working inside. Now for the food, it was amazing. My girlfriend and I loved the oxtail dish so much. The restaurant most likely spends many hours and effort to make the oxtail dish and it was so tender and delicious. My salad was very fresh and tasty as well. The signature pasta was amazing. We’ve tried so many pasta in Italian restaurants in different cantons but were always disappointed in the end, until we tried eating at Osteria della Bottega. We will come back here for sure. I personally hope to try every dish the restaurant offers to customers. My only disappointment is that this restaurant is 2 hours away from where I live 😞 Thank you for the great food...

I went there to try the fettuccine all Bolognese… and I had a full meal!

For starters I ordered the special which was a tomato mozzarella cream salad. Presentation was beautiful, but the tomatoes were too cold - almost as if they’d come out of the fridge - and had lost much of their taste. The fettuccine were the highlight of the meal: al dente like I love, a beautiful sauce and a lot of parmesan (very tasty one too) on top! 10/10 for me. For dessert, I ordered the tiramisu. It was served with a ball of chocolate ice cream inside, which I wasn’t crazy about. The whole thing tasted very good though.

I've eaten here twice, once in summer and once in winter. In the summer months, you can eat outside which is quite nice. The place is popular so it can be quite chaotic too. On both occasion waiters appeared to be bickering amongst themselves which slowed down the service a lot, the sommelier can be quite pretentious so you can never order the wine you want without being told your decision is bad or be given an alternative recommendation, the food is quite good but didn't fit the price and eating indoors in winter is annoying because the front door is always left open and so it's cold inside.
