Edited to add: I could not respond to the owner. We would have arrived by 6:18 pm. I completely understand your policies my being upset as a customer was more with whomever was responding to me on whatsapp. Telling a customer that has spent a lot of money (for some of us this is expensive) and who is disappointed that well other people showed up and its your fault for being late lacks empathy and basic customer service skills. I don't live in Interlaken. I am flying with my family and taking several trains to arrive to your location. We had two train delays that I could not control. So I reached out for literal help on getting a taxi etc. The response could have been handled with better courtesy and understanding especially knowing that there will be no refund. I even offered that we could watch how the process of chocolates are made..anything even a visit to your chocolate store. Rather than trying to be helpful the person started shaming me on my lateness which was unnecessary when you already know someone is losing their money and also an experience they were going on multiple trains to get to. I didn't threaten but stated I would share my experience so people would be aware and can make an educated choice. Tourism is an industry based on customer service and how yesterday was handled fell short of what I would recommend to my clients. If the person simply had been more kind in their response or offered hey come to the store and try our chocolate- I wouldn't be writing this review. Please take this as an opportunity to grow and realize that doubling down isn't necessary but rather reaching out to the other party and trying to alleviate a situation shows your an actual business that cares but it seems you just wanted our money and didn't really care how you treated us.
I would highly recommend not booking a chocolate making course with this company especially if traveling with young children. They lack empathy and basic customer service skills. Their classes are 12 members and my family was 6 people. We had multiple travel delays en route and contacted them via whatsapp for help. In short they reiterated their policies which is fine but they shamed us for being late unlike the other half of the class. We are tourists and do not control delays in trains. I offered if we could just watch the other members and at least see the process. They declined. They also declined any amount of refund or rescheduling. The entire conversation was incredibly lacking in basic customer service or trying to make the situation better. Repeatedly the person kept saying unnecessary things rather than being helpful. Its like their company isn't geared to international tourists. Skip and go to Lindts or...
Read moreFirst off a disclaimer : This review is NOT about the chocolate club but the experience (or rather the NON experience) we had.
We visited Interlaken from the USA in late Dec 2022. We had booked the Chocolate Workshop for 4 of us that included our two young adult kids. We experienced bad weather and requested that this workshop time be changed - we did NOT do this within the 48 hours that these guys ask. So, technically speaking these guys were within their rights to do what they did next.
When paid 276 Swiss Francs for the class for the 4 of us (US $300). Our class was scheduled for a Wed. We called on Tues and requested to postpone the class to Thu. We were told that 5 seats were available but confirmation was needed. We were then told that there were no seats left. We were asked to come back at Friday at 4 pm to come and see if we could be accommodated.
We reached Friday at 330 pm and were told that there were no seats. It is possible there weren't but it is kind of hard to believe that over a course of multiple workshops in a day and multiple days, even ONE spot could not be offered to us. This is a chocolate shop - we requested that if the money could not be refunded, could we buy chocolates with some of the money we had paid. The woman in charge had the temerity to offer us ONE HOT chocolate for the $300 we had paid !
So all in all - we booked this workshop based on the positive reviews we had seen. But we came back (especially our kids) feeling cheated and extremely disappointed. Most of the Swiss people we encountered (at cafes, at restaurants, at train stations) were very friendly and courteous. The woman who ran this workshop was the exception.
Based on our experience with the woman in charge I would highly recommend that you do not venture anywhere near her.
RESPONSE to owners REPLY : Lady - to show your principles is the exact reason why I wrote this review. Your principle was - offer ONE hot chocolate for the US $300 you had charged. And you are blaming us for rejecting THAT ? Incredible !! Lets not mince words here - you charged us $300 for NO SERVICE. Yes - I saw your agreement of a 48 hr cancel window and technically you are correct. But lets not pretend that you are coming out holier than thou in...
Read moreI recently visited this delightful chocolate cafe and had a fantastic experience that I’d love to share. From the moment I walked in, the cozy and inviting atmosphere put me at ease, with the rich aroma of chocolate drifting through the air. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, greeting me with smiles and offering helpful menu suggestions, which really enhanced my visit.
The star of my experience was the chocolate pastry. It was beautifully presented and tasted absolutely divine—rich, moist, and perfectly sweet, with deep chocolate flavors that felt indulgent but not overwhelming. The pastry had a lovely creamy filling and a glossy chocolate glaze that made each bite incredibly satisfying. You can tell that real care goes into their desserts, both in terms of flavor and presentation.
Beyond the pastry, the cafe had an impressive selection of other chocolate treats, showcasing a true passion for chocolate in all its forms. Whether you’re catching up with friends, treating yourself, or simply love great chocolate, this cafe is a must-visit. My visit ended on a high note, leaving me looking forward to coming back and trying more of their tempting offerings. Highly recommended for all...
