This is NOT a four star hotel and the hotel ratings organization should validate and re-categorize it. It shares a space with a hostel and the whole lobby area feels more like a hostel than a hotel.
That said, the hotel is in a very convenient location with a pretty little spot on the river. There is a bar with some lite food available at the hotel but there isn’t a proper restaurant. Breakfast provided was good with a decent assortment of food. The staff is nice but our room wasn’t cleaned yet when we came back to the hotel around 15:30.
The rooms are spacious and clean yet sparse. The beds are more like cots with only one pillow offered and no headboards. There aren’t mini fridges in the rooms (unless you ask for them apparently) or a mini bar. The shower was stocked with only shampoo and a bar of soap. The towels were thin. Wood floors but no area rugs so echoed—again, more like a hostel. If I found out they swapped out rooms and put bunk beds in them, I would believe it.
One of the oddest things was that there were very few and inconveniently placed outlets. Apparently it’s to offer an “electronic detox” (?????) so there is no electrical outlets near the bed? Most ridiculous thing I’ve heard for an excuse of poor design. People expect to have outlets by the bed to charge their devices.
If this were a 2 or 3 star hotel I would rate the experience considerably higher. The hotel will offer you a clean, air conditioned stay in a nice location with a decent breakfast.
4 stars prices without anywhere close to the level of amenities, service, decors etc. though. You can certainly find something with a...
Read moreI wanted to love it but it was so so. First “Deluxe Jungfrau view” room provided had a balcony leading to an adjacent roof and electrical lines. After two requests they did find a satisfactory room. I requested two extra pillows as the ones provided were pretty flat, it was late and I was ready to go to bed and I had to follow up after 45 minutes after the initial request, still tipped the attendant. The ones provided were even more flat the originals but i did not want to be the complainers and we were tired so we settled. We tried out the laundry service following directions and putting our clothes on the laundry bag for housekeeping. The bag with the 5 frank piece was left in clear view but was ignored. Upon follow up laundry was picked up-tipped the attendant. Upon return of the laundry some items were missing. When I inquired about missing items at the front desk the housekeeping was coincidently close by and attendant said he had found some of the missing items, I requested they be returned to the room. After dinner there were no returned laundry items. Upon follow up front desk said that the attendant had in fact not found any missing items.||Positives-trendy design, great water pressure||Negatives-only a few feet from the railroad tracks that run on a...
Read moreLoved our three night stay in this hotel. The staff was friendly from the front desk to the restaurant employees. We stayed on the second floor and were towards the end of the hallway for what appeared to be the newer section of the hotel. ||Our room was spacious and had a balcony with a partial view of the bluest canal. Our friends were in the last room of the hallway next to ours, and their room was considerably smaller than ours, and they had the train tracks right next to them. I think it was room 117. We were 116. The rooms had air conditioning, which was nice as it was hot in Interlaken while we were there. The beds were a bit hard and scratchy and we all needed to ask for more pillows as the ones in the room were very soft and no support.||They have a laundry room which has detergent in it, but it was hard to operate, and the staff person who was sent to help us wasn't very helpful.||We loved the location of this hotel as you could catch a bus or train nearby. We visited Grindelwald, Trummelbach Falls, and Harder Klum.||We had drinks one afternoon and evening, which was nice, but we didn't particularly care for the restaurant, which is next door to the hotel. The staff, though, were very nice. ||Great location for shops and...
