The website claimed its fine Indian dining and we were really looking for great experience and great food. Having lived in US and being Indian our exoectations were high nit to mentuon we were craving for Indian food. However the overall experince was unpleasant. Maybe it was an odd day for the restaurant but nothing seemed to be working right. There were families with kids howling at top of voice, playing games on loud volumes, customers not seated for long time, orders not taken on time....Two families was very angry and shouting at top voices disturbing other patrons. Amongst all this hotel owner and staff seemed helpless and gave up...leading to customers like me to have negative experience. Our order was promptly taken and came on time but it was vert spicy. When inquired, we were told tge chef saw we were Indians and assumed we eat spicy food 😃...he gave us some yogurt to douse the fire.

Read moreDuring our 21-day Swiss vacation from the USA, my wife (67) and I (73) found ourselves in Interlaken, soon to be joined by our daughters, sons-in-law, and four grandchildren. On June 11th, we discovered Spice India, just a short walk from our hotel. We ordered the chicken Madras and palak paneer, and from the first bite, we knew we'd found something special. Our satisfaction was so profound that we made the unusual decision to bring our entire family—all eight children and grandchildren—back to the same restaurant the very next day. As avid travelers, we typically prioritize trying new establishments, so this repeat visit underscores the exceptional quality of the cuisine. Despite the higher prices, which are typical for Switzerland, I wholeheartedly recommend...
Read moreI was missing rice a lot, so we decided to have dinner here while we were in Interlaken. It was in a nice spot away from the crowded streets, and it was nice to sit outside with a view of the mountain between buildings. We ordered Palak Paneer, Shahi Paneer, Pappadums, and of course, rice. The Shahi Paneer was top notch and probably one of the best I've had, but the Palak Paneer tasted a bit different from what my husband and I are used to. It was still delicious, but it may not be the restaurant's speciality. The Pappadums may have been a bit too much for the price of €3,50, though. Anyway, service was okay and could be improved as we had struggled a bit to get someone's attention and had to wait a while to be served some water. Other than that, I think this place is worth a shot if you're craving for something different and are tired of having cheese and bread or potatoes...
