A Nightmarish Dining Experience: Rude Staff, Shouting, and No Understanding of Halal
I recently had what could only be described as an absolute nightmare of a dining experience at [Restaurant Name]. What should have been a pleasant evening out turned into a stress-inducing encounter that I hope to never repeat. This review is intended to detail the numerous ways this establishment failed in every possible aspect, from service to knowledge, to basic human decency.
First Impressions: A Foreboding Atmosphere
From the moment I approached the restaurant, something felt off. The exterior, while not particularly unappealing, lacked any warmth or inviting qualities. However, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, hoping the food and service inside would make up for it. Unfortunately, this was the first of many disappointments.
Upon entering, I was struck by the unwelcoming demeanor of the staff. Rather than being greeted with a smile or even a simple hello, I was met with cold stares as if my presence was an inconvenience. The host at the front desk seemed uninterested in seating me, and after a long, awkward pause, he finally directed me to a table with a dismissive wave of his hand.
The Rude and Unprofessional Staff
Once seated, things only got worse. The server assigned to my table arrived with a scowl, clearly uninterested in providing even a basic level of service. When I inquired about the menu, asking whether certain dishes were halal, I was met with sheer ignorance and hostility. Rather than answering my question, the server responded with a rude, condescending tone, as if I had asked something absurd or offensive. He clearly had no understanding of what halal meant, which was shocking in today’s world where dietary restrictions and cultural sensitivity should be common knowledge in the hospitality industry.
When I tried to explain what halal meant, hoping to clarify my needs, the server's patience snapped. He interrupted me, raised his voice, and essentially told me that they "don’t cater to weird requests." I was appalled by this blatant disrespect and the lack of...
Read moreMe and my wife visited shuh Interlaken grand cafe restaurant on Monday December 11 at 4 pm and were served by a young man wearing glasses who blatantly disrespected me and my wife and treated us extremely poorly ,
From the first moment we sat down and started to take our order he left in the middle of taking our order cutting us off mid order , when my wife asked him what tea he recommends he simply replied “I don’t know” , when she asked again he aggressively replied “I don’t know”, we both refrained from speaking to de escalate , I don’t know if this attitude has anything to do with the fact that my wife is Muslim and covers her hair with a modesty shall ,
When the waiter returned I attempted to verify that he wasn’t just having a bad day as we were prepared to understand if that was the case , so I thanked him twice to which he ignored me and dropped our teas and coffees on the table rudely
Rather than making a scene we both remained extremely quite , however would like to express our deepest disappointment in the manner in which we have been treated , we underline that we do not accept being treated in such a way , and I do not accept my wife to be treated in such a way , especially for a cafe of this caliber ,
It’s safe to assume that we will not be returning and you have lost the both of us as customers , I hope that you consider your customers experience as a foundation for the success of any business , I have read about the history of your cafe on your website , it is sad to see how the passion and hard work of the pioneers of this cafe goes to waste and decays over time at the hands of those who can’t live up to the high moral standards and values of...
Read moreI went to dine in this cafè, but the welcoming wasn’t delightful, and the waiter was rude, that all was due to his peer saying while showing me my table that i wasn’t allowed to have my pepsi with me when dining so i told if i could sit and finish it real quick or if he prefered me finishing it outside before coming inside and despit me saying there was only little left and ill throw it, he found it appropriate to raise his vioce as if i wasnt complying to the rule, he said “NO DISCUSSION” interupting his peer making his voice seem loud for others to hear and making it seem as if i was in the wrong, and when i left due to the bad experience but then had the conscience to go and complain about his poorly behavior the other waiter didnt want to help but in lightened me that he was the manger and when i asked for a higher status where i can complain to someone i was told that they didn’t know who i can reslot to, trying to always reslot me back to him, and for that i wouldn’t really thing to eat there anytime soon or ever nor will I recommend someone to do so regarding there poor behavior between staff. We regret the momets we had when we uset to dine in this cafe for having such person working there. (Open for discussion) would you think such treatment was due to me being a muslim and wearing a hijab/scarf? I still can’t...
