This is an edited review following the rather disingenuous comments made by the owner after my initial review from July 15, 2025. Out of respect for their business, I have copy pasted below the initial "conversation".
Review July 17th, 2025: First, took them from 3 to 2 stars considering how demeaning and false some of the owner's remarks were. Yes, we came and used a Fast Pass to enjoy better prices (owner - it seems you are resenting such customers, do you?...). Fast Pass is a way to discover new restaurants. The price we paid was not the list price (by definition) but my initial comment was to say, should we have paid full price for the pizze at Domani, they would have been overpriced considering how little quantities they put on the pizza and the amount of leftover crust. Yes, Domani's pizze are overpriced, even by Lausanne standards. False and deceptive comment from the owner: we did not go around the fastpass rules to not order drinks as it is supposed to. No, we asked the owner first, he checked and said there was no restrictions on the way to order food and drinks, and everything was available. As a result, we ordered as we pleased, and drank tap water. any problem with that? Depending on where you go in Naples, you can find soft or crisp crust pizza. In any case, the pizze made at Domani are not even remotely close in taste and generosity to what you find in Naples. Besides, there are much better outlets (and cheaper) in Lausanne. PS: the manager quoted us a price lower than we should have paid when the bill came. I did not stay silent and corrected his mistake, to pay the correct price, and that honesty, he did not mention in the initial review (nor did he mention the other 2 calculations errors he made in between which I also corrected...)
My initial review (15th July): Cool den not far from Flon or train stations, for a gathering with friends or parties (you can privatize the place), but the pizze were disappointing. While they taste ok, there is almost no ingredient on top and the pasta itself is too soft (undercooked?). The "undercarriage" was definitely sloppy. The sweet calzone was slightly better, but very (too) sweet to our taste. The price was not cheap either. We have very much appreciated the kindness of the waitress, and thank her for taking care of us. However, we won't be back.
Domani’s response (15th July) Dear Sir, Thank you for your feedback, I cannot help but point out that your photos themselves completely contradict both the remarks regarding the quantity of ingredients and the degree of cooking of the pizzas. Neapolitan pizza is soft by default; it's not meant to be crispy. Incidentally, since you mention the price—our prices are perfectly in line with those of Lausanne pizzerias, especially considering that we use exclusively local ingredients—you benefited from an offer with the Fast Pass, which gives you a 50% discount, and you didn't even respect the obligation to order a paid drink, which is clearly stated in the promotion rules. So, you paid 24 CHF for three pizzas and a carafe of water, far from the 40-50 CHF you mentioned. Sincerely, Mario Mattiello - Domani...
