Mill'Feuille — Restaurant in Lucerne

Hi. I am pleased to respond to your inquiry. We had one more night in Lucerne. We had visited a couple of very good restaurants on our visit. We checked Google Maps for a good place to have a nice dinner before we returned to Canada. Your restaurant had very good reviews and it was within walking distance so we first stopped by around lunch time to look at a menu and reserve. We were pretty much ignored and when we got some attention, a menu was put in front of us and we were told to reserve online. We did not appreciate the “bush-off” but we gave the place the benefit of the doubt as it was pretty busy, so we reserved online for dinner when we got back to our hotel. We arrived for dinner around 6pm if I recall, and we were seated quickly off in the back corner table for two. We were sitting for a while before we waived down a server, who came over and asked if we wanted to order drinks, so we ordered drinks. We finished the drinks and once again waived down a different server to order food. The food took what we thought was an unusually long time to arrive., but it was “okay.” We were hoping for “great”, but it was nothing special. I believe we decided to skip desert, but we were never asked anyway. After sitting for approximately 15-20 minutes with no attention at all, nor any sign of the server, we got up and went to the front and asked for our bill so we could leave. They asked where we were sitting and handed us the correct bill. I paid and we left. I believe I left a smaller than usual tip, even though none was really earned! We got back to the hotel and google asked how we enjoyed the dinner and I simply decided to give it a well-deserved three stars, and leave it at that. It is very unlikely we will ever be back in Lucerne, but if we are, we have good memories, and we will find...

While exploring Lucerne, I stopped for a solo lunch at Mill'Feuille, and it turned out to be one of the most delightful experiences of my trip.

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by Mona, who was incredibly attentive, kind, and genuinely passionate about making my meal special. She recommended the egg dish starter with spinach, paired with a Swiss Pinot Noir — and it was absolutely splendid. The flavors complemented each other perfectly, and her suggestion really elevated the whole meal.

Before she ended her shift, Mona also encouraged me to try their signature dessert, with a bit of fresh customization she thought I’d enjoy — and she was absolutely right. It was divine, and I truly adore her for that thoughtful touch.

As Mona left, the lovely Ms. Marianne took over seamlessly. She was just as gracious and kind, ensuring I continued to feel welcome and well cared for. Their genuine hospitality made dining solo feel warm and comfortable.

Aside from the amazing food and service, what really stood out was how reasonably priced everything was — especially in comparison to most other restaurants in Lucerne. Mill'Feuille offers top-tier quality and hospitality without breaking the bank.

Whether you're on your own or dining with others, I highly recommend Mill'Feuille for its cozy ambiance, fantastic food, and truly heartwarming service. I’ll definitely be back!

The restaurant had a nice view, but our visit turned out disappointing. The food was alright, but what really bothered us was how our booking was handled by a staff member. We were dressed appropriately and politely asked for a table. Initially, we understood not getting an outside table with a river view due to lack of reservation -this we totally understand. So, we requested a table inside where there were clearly many tables available with a river view (and many other tables available). However, she insisted we could only sit at a dark table towards the back. It made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We asked are there any other tables, she said this is the only one.

Throughout our meal, it became obvious the restaurant wasn't as fully booked as claimed, with empty tables being cleared while we were there. Inside seats were empty while we were eating. This added to our disappointment. We couldn't help but feel we were treated unfairly because we're Asian.

Thankfully, other staff members were friendly and tried to make up for it by offering us a better table after we finished eating. But by then, the damage was done.
