Opus — Restaurant in Lucerne

I'm really surprised this restaurant has such a high rating. I thought this was the worst experience I've had in Luzern. Service was really poor... we gave up waiting to even get menus and had to find them ourselves. The drinks we ordered were also poor. The Panache was flat and tasted poor, and my wine was clearly open a long time because it tasted really dead (I had the wine before so knew exactly how it should taste).

Then the food... wow, the prices are ridiculous. I had the burger and it was probably the worst, most overpriced burger I've ever had. I asked without cheese, and the remaining toppings were so minimal I actually thought they'd forgotten to add some of them (like the bacon). The burger overall was small, and the fries were clearly just generic frozen fries. For almost 40 francs, this is an absolute rip off. Oh and they didn't reduce the price, despite the fact I asked them to remove one of the main toppings. Go to Bierliebe and Friends (just 1 minute away by the river) and you can get a way, way better burger and amazing fries for 10 francs less.

I didn't have a desert, but my colleagues all complained about the tiny portions and high prices.

So overall, poor service, very high prices and sub-standard food. Not at all...

I gave 1 star for the service. Just had dinner there and saw how they treat us and the Indians. They asked for a table of 17 and as the restaurant do not have enough table to sit all 17 of them together(mostly kids) they were willing to split. However the manager did not seem willing to serve them and told them to go to another restaurant instead. And when they eventually chose to eat there despite the service, we actually saw 3 staff shaking their heads.

As for us, I asked the manager for 3 side plates yet he forgot about it. While waiting for another staff to get us the plates our food went cold. We actually wanted to order more but upon seeing how they treat others we decided to leave. Finally when we asked another staff for the bill she said to me in an agitated tone "Just a min please please please". It was actually our first time calling out for bill so we can't really understand her frustration.

The only positive thing about this place is the nice view on the river. Service is horrendous. We just wanted a quick drink here before we had to leave and sat down at a table which was reserved from 7pm (it was 5.30pm at the time) and were told to sit around the corner if we were only having drinks. Fine, we went around the corner and sat down there (non reserved table), but yet again were told to move to another table. Fine, we're only having a quick drink. We ordered 2 drinks (beer and a coke) so I have no idea why it turned out to be so difficult for them but we were sat there for at least 30 minutes, waived at several waitresses but were continuously ignored (the waitress that took our order looked me in the eye as I waived at her, then whispered something to her colleague and yet again ignored me to take another table's order instead).
