5 stars for the decor and the style in this bar. Unfortunately that’s about all that was pleasant here. Walked in on a Wednesday to clearly locals that want to be left alone (another great reminder of how switzerland is ranked low on friendliness). As a tourist, you expect little but I ask for a Jameson with coke just to get a disgruntled look from the bartender as he pours clearly flat coke into my glass when I was trying to ask for another glass.
Clearly, not being a local means people are automatically rude here even when you’re not being rude yourself. They also charged $5 more for the same amount of whiskey you can get at a bar on the street around the corner.
Makes you wonder how people get the opinion of Americans that they have in the world when you don’t act rude or disrespectful and still get rude, overpriced, and nothing...
Read moreYou know, especially as a tourist you shouldn't expect too much. Apart from a few regulars, the bar consists mostly of stranded people (because it's open all the time and you can go if you miss your last train).
That being said, it is a funny place. The staff is nice enough (if you are nice that is) but don't expect fast orders. If they are talking to a friend they will finish their talk. On the other hand though, they will not rush you. So if you just order a beer and sit there for 2 hours while you wait for your train, they will mist likely not say anything and leave you be.
