Hummerbar — Restaurant in Zurich

I was disappointed. Food is OK for the price. Wine is outrageously expensive. Really, 235CHF for an Amarone? I enjoy paying food I cannot cook. But being charged 5 times for a bottle I can buy in any shop, that annoys me.

I was also disappointed by the desert. I took Profiterolles, because these are one of those simple deserts (baba au rhum, saint honoré) that are delicious when mastered, and boring otherwise. I ended up with tiny choux that tasted not even as good as frozen one I can get at Migros. And no, pouring the chocolate once the plate is delivered does not make it taste better.

Which brings me to the last element of that negative review: service and atmosphere looks like old-fashioned restaurants in France, from 40 years ago. Fine dining in the heart of Zurich! The restaurant is charming and well decorated, perfect for a dinner with your lover! I highly appreciated the huge variety of fine wines and champagne. Starting a dinner with a good Blanc de Blanca is living like Louis XIV. The restaurant offers fine dishes, mainly seafood, extremely delicious! On my visit from America it’s very confusing to be in another country and know what is good or not good there for a Google review is a good place to turn. This was fine dining at its best seafood as good as I’ve had anywhere with Maine lobster available and everything . singh & katharina gave us the best service possible with full explanations and the fresh seafood was delicious. they even made a cocktail sauce for my oysters, which is American thing it’s not heard of here, but when I explained it, they got out the horseradish, and made it for me . highly recommend this...
