In the heart of Zurich, nestled among a myriad of chocolate shops, Confiseur Bachmann emerges as a beacon for chocolate connoisseurs and coffee lovers alike. From the moment you step into this enchanting haven, you are transported into a world where chocolate takes center stage and coffee orchestrates a harmonious symphony of flavors.
As a seasoned explorer of the city's sweet delights, I've ventured into almost all the brands that Zurich has to offer, yet Confiseur Bachmann truly stands out. The store's collaboration with Lindt, another Swiss chocolate titan, adds a further layer of depth to their already impressive portfolio. The first floor is a veritable treasure trove of Lindt chocolates, each piece a testament to Swiss craftsmanship and quality.
Yet, the magic of Confiseur Bachmann extends beyond its exceptional chocolate offerings. It's a place where aesthetics and taste intertwine to create an unforgettable experience. The Ferrero Rocher and macaron seats, a playful nod to the sweet indulgences they offer, add a touch of whimsy to the store's decor. The store's ambiance is further elevated by the exceptional lighting, which accentuates every corner and every product, making each visit a visual feast.
Journeying to the second floor, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee greets you. This floor is a sanctuary for coffee enthusiasts, offering a diverse menu that perfectly complements the chocolate delights downstairs. The space is inviting, with a decor that is both sophisticated and cozy, making it the perfect place to unwind with a cup of coffee and a piece of fine Swiss chocolate.
One of the store's most remarkable features is the chocolate wall on the upper level. This spectacle is a true showstopper, a testament to the creativity and passion that Confiseur Bachmann brings to the world of chocolate. The sight of chocolate flowing under the stairs as you ascend is nothing short of mesmerizing, making each visit a sensory adventure.
Accessibility is another strength of Confiseur Bachmann. The presence of an elevator ensures that everyone, regardless of mobility, can enjoy all the store has to offer. This thoughtful touch reflects the store's commitment to providing an inclusive and enjoyable experience for all.
Confiseur Bachmann is more than just a chocolate store or a coffee shop; it's a celebration of Swiss confectionery and a testament to the art of creating memorable experiences. From the Lindt chocolates on the first floor to the coffee sanctuary above, every aspect of the store is designed to delight. Whether you're a chocolate lover, a coffee aficionado, or simply a seeker of unique experiences, Confiseur Bachmann is a must-visit destination in the...
Read moreOn Monday this week, I decided to take my mother for a cold drink and some tasty pastries at Bachmann on Bahnhofstrasse. She was visiting me from England and we had just had a very special morning, she came with me for a pregnancy scan! We were therefore in a happy mood and were looking forward to taking a time out from the heat.
We bought our food and drinks and then saw that there were three empty tables on the upper floor that were not occupied. There was one family having an ice cream at one table so we headed upstairs to eat. My mother was browsing the products on the second floor so I went to sit down. Soon after, a member of staff (older looking lady with short grey hair), came to tell us to leave as we hadn't purchased food or drink from the restaurant. She could clearly see that I am pregnant and my mother is also an older lady. I pointed out that there were no customers waiting for a table. In fact, the store was rather empty. She persisted and told us to leave. I was astounded, I made this very clear. I found her response quite patronising and unsympathetic. We scooped up our half eaten food and left.
I see that I am not the only customer to have been treated in this way. If you wish to persist with this ridiculous rule, I would like to recommend you clearly inform your customers via signage/table cards that only food consumed from the Bachmann Restaurant can be consumed there and NOT just Bachmann cakes/sandwiches. The specific conditions of this seem rather silly to me, and clearly many other customers.
In addition, I would suggest your team receive some intensive customer service training. The girls on the desk on the ground floor were also not so friendly, and when told of my mother's nut allergy, were not able to give clear and certain allergy information. The lady who asked us to leave lacked basic customer service know-how. She could have clearly made an exception here, but she chose not to. What a waste of an opportunity to make our experience fantastic!
Your prime location on Bahnhofstrasse means you receive a lot of tourist customers. It is a shame that many of these tourists will have had a bad experience in your store and will take this with them. I have personally lived in Zurich for almost 10 years and have never been treated with such lack of empathy as I was on Monday. Time for some...
Read more2 stars just because we like its fresh products, otherwise bad customer experience in general.
We like the place and various fresh products. Regularly visit it Saturdays. If you are lucky you even can get a place to sit and order upstairs:)
Today was a disappointing experience.
We planned to have the usual take away. I was standing in line with my child, I think last 3rd operating lane. We wanted to order 2 cupcakes 2 mango and chocolate schnitte plus the usual small box of macaron. The lady serving ( Radoxxxxa) us was very rude!
She said for the macaron I have to stand in line again at the 1st lane. Store was full.
I was surprised, asked her if I understood it right? She confirmed I had to pay and order macarons again. Having my child with me I did not want to disappoint him so I paid and went to the first row. People were pushing and were complaining. Another lady employee Carmen or Carmel was screaming in German to another customer. She later was giving macarons for free to other local people as line 3 and 2 started to complain and continue to order macarons.
I was never treated this way; asked to stand in line twice just because the employees were not in the mood to move or just wanted to punish the customers ... I was in store for 29 minute. Still have the receipts.
I paid for my first order at 16.31 and the 2nd order 16:43. Meaning I was standing in line for the 2nd time for 10-12 minutes just for macarons to complete my order.
Lady serving us with the Macaron apologized for the waiting time. This is appreciated but the other 2 ladies plus 1 not working just observing were all enjoying punishing customers. At least I had the feeling. We will avoid the place Saturdays from now on, as staff cannot handle demand and people.
Maybe invest more in trainings and set...
