Stumbled upon Rank for Sunday brunch and it turned out to be really nice!
First off — the space. Modern, moody, and minimal with a view into the open kitchen that makes you feel like you’re in on the action. The menu is tight but thoughtful — no fluff, just solid, creative dishes. We started with the bread basket (sourdough, zopf, croissant — yes please) and whipped butter that’s dangerously moreish. I had a sandwich with smoked trout. Layered with cream cheese, pickled radish, herbs, and a punchy beet mustard drizzle.
They’ve got a good thing going with their cheese and cold cuts selection too — ideal for grazing while sipping on one of their herbal teas (peppermint and verveine for the win). Loved that they offer Swiss wines and a glass of bubbles if you’re in the mood.

Unfortunately, the "Tavolata" experience didn't match the setting. The dishes were quite basic, lacking depth and creativity, which wouldn’t be an issue if the price reflected the quality. However, given the cost, the food felt underwhelming and not quite fair for what you get.
It's a real pity because this place has so much potential. With a bit more attention to the culinary aspect, it could be an...
