Update: Under new management, wow not sure what to say in this - it still looks beautiful, but the service was not great and most importantly both of us felt unpleasantly dry and thirsty after the meal. We opted for the same bases we’d separately had before although they didn’t taste the same (do try them first). Service overall was a bit pushy and not really warm and friendly. We were in a shared table with a divider and when the other table left they scrubbed the hot plates so hard that we thought an earthquake had struck. This of course spilt soup all over our hot plate and controls. The meal tasted ok, but when we went for a walk we both remarked how thirsty we were and how uncomfortable our throats were - we’ve never had this before and since we had different soup bases I’m not sure what happened. Not a great feeling - wouldn’t go back
Very impressed. It’s rare that a restaurant gets it this right. I do like a good hotpot and this has to be the best experience I’ve had in 20 years plus of eating them. I went for the light beef broth as the base and loved it (fresh, light and natural tasting). The two types of beef we had were excellent quality. A wide selection of very fresh vegetables were supplied. Note that it’s just vegetables and a bit of fried tofu, no strange blobs of processed material. The meal was followed by a small delicious dessert - we both opted for peanut ice cream. Very peanuty, surprisingly tasty, and not overly sweet. So the food was great, but what about other aspects? Equally great. It really made a difference having ultra friendly staff who are attentive and make you feel like nothing would be too much trouble for them. And then there is the decor: wow hand painted heaven. Just look at the photos, pink leopards, hummingbirds, cats... all very fun and Instagramable.
Price wise, we spent about 1000 for two people and given the service, ambiance, and the quality of the food I think that it was excellent value. I’m a bit of a miserable guy and hard to impress, Guo really impressed me. Strongly...

There are few soup bases to choose from, vegetarian friendly. You first choose one kind of meat you want, and then soup base through QR code ordering system. Veggies and carbs are through buffet.
Overall the taste was fine, meat quality was average, not to my preference...
