We searched online for a notable place to dine at Taichung and Smokey Joes pop out. When we first entered the restaurant, the service was sharp and swift, however, once we sat at our table for ordering then came the issues.
We were quickly rushed to order and i understand that it was supposedly to be the last order but we adhere to the limitations they presented to us (of ordering before 8pm). But the waitress assigned to us kept pestering us and even standing at the table side awaiting our order even though we werent ready, which I think its pretty rude. We also informed her that we would like all onions and parsley to not be mixed into the dishes due to my girlfriend’s dietary restrictions, but she somehow seemed confused by the request.
We ordered the corn soup with shrimp, potato and cheese, pulled pork sliders, chicken fajita, squid spaghetti.
The corn soup with shrimp and potato & cheese was pretty good. The pulled pork sliders also delivered its flavors however the coleslaw (which came full of onions) that came together was honestly disgusting. The fajita still had parsley sprinkled on top of it, the chicken was good just that the fact that parsley was still added onto it was negligent. THE SQUID INK SPAGHETTI WAS SO BAD. We couldn’t even finish it. There was no taste whatsoever and the squid was way too salty.
We were given 90mins to dine but the staff also started clearing everything and cleaning up near our table while we were still dining which was not professional at all. Overall, the dining experience was...
Read moreHad the 2-person set: Fruit sparkler & Orange tea were nice. Chicken quesadilla was crunchy, but very little contents inside. Taste 7/10, value 4/10. Spaghetti w/pulled pork had nice smokey flavor 8/10. The pulled pork meat itself was just OK. Mushroom risotto didn't have as much flavor as the spaghetti., but was still alright 6/10. Brownie w/ large scoop of ice cream was nice 7/10. Overall, bill was just under 1500 for the set, after 10% service charge. Definitely could eat better around the city for the price. Wanted to try it out based on curiosity and photos of place. If you're from the U.S., there is nothing special about the experience or food. Can get better food for less price. But if you want to give your local friends, especially a group, a decent taste of American type food and fun decor for photo taking, with slightly discounted meal set prices, this would be...

Smokey Joe’s is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves bold, smoky flavors and hearty portions. From the moment you walk in, the inviting aroma of grilled meats sets the tone for a great dining experience.
I tried their grilled meats, and they were absolutely tender, juicy, and packed with rich BBQ flavor. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get.
The service was also top-notch! The staff was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations. The ambiance is perfect for both casual hangouts and special occasions.
