Awful experience. Came specially all the way here with my friend after reading all the positive reviews.
Walked through the door and the boss was busy taking some order so he didn’t notice us. When I finally got his attention, he turned towards us and hastily said something that was not fully understood, but along the lines of “no please leave”. I tried to clarify after a short while and he said he wasn’t able to accommodate us. I offered to wait since one of the tables looked like they had just 10-15 mins remaining, but he didn’t seem too comfortable with that.
After a while, I walked up to him to politely ask if some of the tables which were poorly arranged (2 tables put together for a party of 4 but only 1 lone diner) could have been split in order to seat us, but he was visibly even more uncomfortable with that. Splitting tables would have been easily done with no fuss at other similar establishments.
It was the dismissive and very unwelcoming attitude along with the distinct lack of effort to accommodate diners that left us feeling snubbed.
Also, doubt the food might have been really good. If you scrutinise the reviews - they are all left by tourists. There were no locals dining there when we visited.
This experience ruined our evening.
UPDATE: The boss responded to my review with even more snubs, laced with subtle racist connotations.
(1) I am not from China.
(2) I am Chinese Singaporean and I speak perfect English. The language barrier was caused by the boss not being able to communicate respectfully. Body language transcends language.
(3) The boss is an absolute liar. At no point was there any intervention from "another Chinese guests who was already dining to translate the message in Chinese". Also, when we mentioned that we were happy to wait for a table, he was visibly uncomfortable with that.
(4) Splitting tables isn't a "China" cultural thing. This happens everywhere. Clearly the boss hasn't visited enough restaurants locally or abroad to know how to include good practices at his restaurant.

Read moreWonderful find and quite by chance, too. Seeing that it was airconditioned, we originally popped in for a drink, and to take refuge from the heat outside. However, after taking a quick look at the reviews of their food, we decided to stop for lunch, and we were all very pleased that we did.
The larb moo was really tasty, while the chicken rolls tasted more like a chicken sausage meat, but were still very flavoursome. The Thai basil pork was really delicious, and the yellow curry with stir fried chicken was very different from what we have eaten before. The coconut sauce was slightly curdled, intentionally, but still had all of the wonderful flavours, including turmeric, coriander, fish sauce, tamarind, lime, garlic, ginger etc.
The pad see ew had a nice peppery kick to it and the stir fried kale was another good accompliment to the meat dishes.
If I had one small observation to make, the yellow curry was a little too oily for me, but this didn't detract from the overall taste of the dish.
We saw various dishes on other tables, including the Tom Yum shrimp soup, and salt and chilli prawns, and these looked fantastic too.
The staff were really lovely and they clearly have a very capable chef. Nice too that the restroom was very clean.
Well worth a visit if you like really tasty,...
Read moreWhat a little treat of a find this place was thanks to Google reviews. Maps required to find it but glad I did.
Food - the best Tom Yum soup we have ever had. Succulent and abundance of seafood with the soup the perfect balance between sweet and sour. Enough chilli to sneak up on you.
We also had the pad Thai noodles and pork larp. Both were nice but the Tom Yum stole the show.
Service - this is a little family owned and operated restaurant. It is very small and the owner was quick to greet and take our orders.
Value - very good value, it would have been better value if I didn’t give a large well deserved tip.
Do yourself a favour and...
