Five stars: the Detroit Style was six stars, the regular style four as delivered but probably also six for dine-in. Once again, Sarnies proves you can have good value for money in luxury food in lovely Bangkok!
What is Detroit Style, you ask? Deep dish with cheese baked hard on the edges. 50 baht extra. Sounds trivial, but the result is insane: it's like eating the world's best German Käsestange while simultaneously eating a Michelin-starred Chicago pizza.
The regular (round) pizza was also quite impressive because the ingredients were hatched on a different friggin' planet from the normal stuff you find on pizza, and I don't mean just "in Asia." The only problem was that the admirably thin crust got soggy towards the middle, no doubt owing to the load of unbelievably delicious house-made pesto on top of it. This problem probably doesn't exist if you eat in. Oh, and real pine nuts: I didn't know they still made those!
In the final analysis yes, it's expensive for pizza in BKK, but unlike most of the other expensive pizzas it's overwhelmingly, obviously worth the price. But by all means, get the Detroit Style if ordering for delivery. And, frankly, if you've never had it before you need to get it anyway, so you can have your mind blown and add Murder City to your palette of...
Read moreAs a Detroit native who lives in Asia I really wanted to love this place. Finding decent pizza in Asia is hard, but finding Detroit deep dish is near impossible. Once I thought I found a place I couldn't have been more excited.
My first visit was on January 4th of 2025. My wife and I ordered a Detroit style deepdish pepperoni pizza. It came out with ingredients that were still frozen. We had to have it rebaked. After that step it was of proper eating temperature. Overall good, but having to rebake it really killed it.
My second visit on June 8th of 2025 was with a group of my Detroit based friends who came for a visit. We ordered three Detroit style pizzas and some other dishes. Same issue, pizza under cooked with cold toppings and sauce. Even after having the first pizza baked a second time it was still cold. We decided to not keep bothering them and just ate the cold pizzas. However I can say that the pasta dishes were quite delicious and I would highly recommend them. On the other hand I cannot and would never recommend eating Detroit...
Read morePopped in this evening for dinner after a wanting pizza for sometimes. Coming along the bts train to the station in the pouring rain. The pictures online do not do this pizza justice. Under my general rules for review, I would usually give this place 4 stars as the pumpkin spice latte wasn't good the pasta albeit nice was pretty average.
However, the star of the show the pizza is undoubtly the best I have had in my year in Asia.
If you want good well made and light and airy pizza, this is the place to go, even the fun of it being made in front of you and the different shaped tomatoes added to the experience. My experiences with sugary tomato sauce being passed as pizza here in Bangkok always makes me wary of trying a new place.
The pizza is unbelievably good and the chef should feel very very proud of the dough and the work.
The decor additionally is relaxed and very aesthetically pleasing
The waitress wasn't super warm but she was nice all the same.
Good place...
