If you do not try Chow Chow, you are missing out on the culinary experience of a lifetime.
Okay I am sitting here after eating telling you that this place is not only the best restaurant in chiang mai, but one of the best I have ever eaten at in the WORLD. As someone who has eaten at many world class and Michelin star restaurants, in my humble opinion, there is no place more deserving to be the first Michelin Starred establishment in Chiang Mai than Chow Chow.
The dishes are innovative, fresh and perfectly balanced. The craft beer served alongside perfectly compliments the food. I would easily rank this restaurant my top 5 in the world. This may seem like an overwhelmingly positive review, but I feel honestly compelled to leave it. Damn it, I almost want to run outside and grab passing strangers in the street and shake them telling them they need to go inside and eat.
We had the pomelo salad, the ceviche, the very popular curry, and the signature pork dish. Each was only better than the last.
The service and atmosphere are also notable, from the gorgeous fresh flowers all over, to the cool and ambient music, to the lighting. We are so lucky we were turned away from the michelin recommended place down the street, I can’t imagine it could possibly ever top this absolute gem.
Please eat here. You...
Read moreOur new favorite restaurant in Chiang Mai! This was truly a delectable find! The food was delicious, presented nicely with generous portions! We had the crab fried rice, the Hunglay Curry and the Tangerine chicken! Every dish was equally good! I can’t pick a favorite, but If must, I’d go with the curry, wow! For desserts, we had the Thai Custard cake and the Thai Tea Crême Brûlée, both were scrumptious!! The service gets beyond 5 stars in my book! We were celebrating my partner’s birthday, and happened to mention it to our server at the end of the meal, and not only she personally wished him a Happy Birthday, but had a candle placed on my partner’s dessert, AND a happy birthday song came through the music speakers in the restaurant with everyone singing happy birthday to him!! THANK YOU so much to the staff at CHOW CHOW, you turned an already great dinner to to something even more amazing! Good luck with everything! We’ll...
Read moreA real addition to the Chiang Mai food scene. We had and would highly recommend the hanglang curry, green curry and their dry pork krapow.
All three dishes were balanced, the meat was tender and melted in the mouth. The fragrance, spice and flavour of both the curries was nothing short of astounding.
The restaurant is furnished with class and style. Alongside, the lighting and music created a nice contemporary modern atmosphere whilst the wooden decor retained a classic and traditional feel. The service from Tong was exemplary, personal and attentive.
Overall, Chow Chow is a culinary experience one should not miss in the heart of Chiang Mai. A very big well done and congratulations for creating such an exceptional dining experience. Good luck in the future, I wish you all the...
