AOI stands as one of Thailand’s most respected Japanese dining institutions, with three branches across Bangkok that continue to deliver a truly authentic culinary experience. From the moment you enter, the refined décor, calm atmosphere, and gracious service evoke the understated elegance of dining in Japan.
At the heart of AOI’s excellence lies its commitment to authentic raw materials — from vegetables and wagyu to freshly flown-in sashimi. Every ingredient is treated with care, embodying Japan’s philosophy of simplicity and respect for flavor. The sushi and sashimi sets are artfully presented, each piece offering delicate sweetness and umami balance.
Begin your meal with the Okra with Akami Tuna Soy Sauce — a refreshing appetizer that combines the gentle crunch of okra with the rich, lean texture of tuna, elevated by a perfectly balanced soy dressing. Then move to the Hot Inaniwa Beef Udon, featuring silky, thin noodles in savory broth topped with tender premium beef — warm, comforting, and deeply satisfying.
While prices are premium, they reflect AOI’s consistency and craftsmanship — a place where authenticity and refinement come together...
Read moreWe were welcomed with waitresses wearing traditional Japanese clothing, "kimono". After we have settled down int our seats we were presented with a menu that was very helpful (it is written in Thai, English and Japanese). the food here is AMAZING! It ranges from typical japanese starters like Sashimi to Karage (Fried Chicken). But if you want to take it to the extremes you can order a Kaiseke (please correct me if I'm wrong).
These are the things you want to know: staff speak Thai and OK English. there is a Japanese-speaking manager, for you Japanese-speakers.
Menu is in Japanese, Thai and English.
You can wear anything.
Be aware of the opening hours.
You may be asked to be seated in the tatami room or sushi bar if the normal seats are full.
Clean toilets available.
Great for group meetings, date or casual dining.
Be aware that it is more expensive than other Japanese restaurants in BKK so get ready to pay 100 baht for a cup of rice or 500 baht for grilled salmon.

Please improve your customer service quality before losing more longtime customers! The least that can be done is to confirm the orders before inputting...
