When in Bangkok, don’t miss the charming Japanese restaurant nestled in Sukhumvit 26. It’s a short 2-3 mins easy walk from the DoubleTree hotel towards the BTS station. At the first junction, turn left, and you’ll find Kitaro Sushi after passing a few massage centers 😁. This restaurant offers an authentic Japanese experience with friendly staff and Simply “Oishii” food, featuring seasonal menus that are sure to surprise you.
Sitting at the counter provides a special treat, as the head chef shares fresh imported ingredients. During this visit, I enjoyed the Chef’s Omakase Sashimi platter featuring seasonal ingredients like Maguro Belly, Bonito, Horse Mackeral, Sea Urchin & conger eel sushi to name a few. Sweet Corn Tempura was a unique find, unlike anything I’ve seen on other Japanese restaurant menus. Others on the menu this round we tried chicken meatball dipped in egg yolk (supposedly from Japan) , The finely chopped Negitoro Jo Maki, Kaki Ponzu, Umaki & must not miss Kitaro Salad. All...

Sashimi was fresh and sushi was very well done. We go for the sashimi of the day, all of it was recommended by Chef and it was nice. You will see quite a number of Japanese having dinner in this store as well. Of course, sashimi and sushi dinner won’t be complete without sake. We get the staff recommend us for the hot sake and it was pretty smooth and taste good! For Who are aiming for good and authentic Japanese food in BKK with affordable price, can give a try to this store. Just grab a car if you don’t wish...
Read moreKitaro Sushi offers good quality sushi at a very reasonable price. All nigiri are priced at 120 baht each, which makes premium cuts an especially good deal, though it can feel a little high for basics like cucumber rolls. The atmosphere feels very much like Japan, with the choice of counter seating for a traditional sushi bar experience or Hori-kotatsu style seating if you prefer something more relaxed. The service is attentive and friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good their potato salad was — definitely worth ordering alongside the sushi. So far, Kitaro Sushi is the most budget-friendly, good-quality sushi restaurant I’ve found in Bangkok, and it’s one I’ll keep...
