TLDR: amazing service, lovely ambience, tasty food, expect to pay for the experience and showmanship
Full review: Early dinner with my husband as part of our kid-free date day. We had Accor Plus membership which gives us 50% off food but the value-for-money money assessment was based off the full price as not everyone has access to this discount.
The venue decor is dark and gives a sense of intimacy and yet, is well lit so you can comfortably and clearly see your food and your companion's face. The place was quiet and we easily conversed without needing to raise our voices at all. However, we had arrived and eaten before the standard dinner rush. Staff mentioned that their peak is usually 8pm-10pm though that may change depending on the day. I'd recommend arriving before the peak as it was really nice.
As it was off-peak, we had 2 Itamae chefs to ourselves. I did not notice them serve other customers while we were there. Or if they did it was pretty minimal. As we were sitting at the chef's table, we had a lovely conversation with both chefs and someone who appeared to be the manager. They even looked things up in the system to answer questions we had related to hotel programs. Staff were also attentive and noticed I was feeling a little chilly in the air conditioned space so they offered and brought me a nice soft blanket/shawl to use.
We chose not order any drinks but there were mocktails, a selection of alcohols, and a whiskey bar available.
We ordered the unagi donburi and 7 types of nigiri. As you can see from the photos, the nigiri were prepared in getting of us and the fish were all fresh. The unagi donburi (sorry no photo as it's my favourite and I dove straight in) came with the standard grilled eel and rice but also included finely diced tomago (sweet Japanese omelette). I've never had it finely diced before but it elevated the dish. It also came with miso soup which was warming and tasty. It also usually comes with a salad but due to my allergies, I cannot eat any salads so they offered to replace with an extra serving of miso soup for my husband, which we accepted.
However, if considering JUST the food and assuming full price, it's not quite value-for-money. Again, considering just the food, the unagi donburi was a little pricey but the nigiri is downright expensive. As mentioned, you're paying for the ambience and experience of fresh fish sliced in...

Our reservation was for 2000 and we sat at a booth table. Firstly, the ambience and decor of the restaurant is very sophisticated and relaxing.
The staff are so polite and welcoming. I did not manage to catch their names to personally say thank you; the two gentlemen and the lady who took us to our table were so nice and well mannered. They deserve to be commended for their hospitality.
We have eaten at many Japanese restaurants and Maison Mizuki is truly excellent. We enjoyed all the sushi/sashimi as well as the yakitori and wagyu beef, which was cooked perfectly!
We would definitely come here again if we had time. A special thanks to the Chef for making great dishes!
