Never stay at this hotel if you don't want to ruin your mood and your trip. This was the worst service we experienced during our time in Thailand. The staff ruined our celebration and stood there laughing while my husband and I tried to figure out why we were given a different room than the one we had booked.

We had planned to quietly celebrate New Year’s Eve together in a cozy place and were ready to pay 20,000 rubles (6,500 baht) for a night at this hotel. But when we entered the room, we were shocked by what we saw. The room had a terrible musty smell, and the bathroom had black mold along the edges (the smell likely came from there). The room we received was completely different from the photos on Booking.com, and there were no pictures or warnings indicating that rooms might differ. We had booked a "Premier with a bathtub."

The lighting in the room was dim and gloomy, with a flickering bulb, and the view from the window was just a wall of other windows tightly packed together. The atmosphere was like something out of a horror movie. When we went down to ask why we had been given a different room, and one with mold at that, instead of apologizing, the hotel staff started canceling our booking without our consent 10 minutes before midnight on New Year’s Eve.

When we objected and explained that we had no time or opportunity to find another place and were willing to stay despite everything, the manager started smirking and said it wasn’t his problem and that he didn’t want us staying at HIS hotel. To clarify, we were completely sober and reasonable. Hurt and with our New Year’s celebration ruined, My wife began to cry. The staff smiled, watching her cry, and whispered among themselves. In my opinion, the staff and the hotel manager found the situation amusing and didn’t care about our distress because New Year’s Eve isn’t a big deal to them, unlike for us.

They never tried to fix the situation or apologize. They didn’t even check the room with the mold but instead immediately tried to kick us out, likely afraid of a bad review. From a small problem, they managed to create a huge issue and lose profit. A simple apology and humane treatment could have peacefully resolved the situation, and we would have accepted the room we were given.

Instead, we missed the entire celebration and spent midnight, right as the clock struck 12, dealing with the police over a refund and eviction. This is the “joyful” New Year celebration the Maimi Hotel in Bangkok provided us. The hotel staff lacks proper service, cleaning standards, and the ability to handle challenging customer issues. All of this happened because they were afraid of a bad review on Booking.com and rushed to cancel the reservation (Booking.com doesn’t allow reviews if the reservation is canceled).

P.S. Just take a look at other negative reviews and the responses to them, and you’ll see that nothing has changed over the years. The service remains just as terrible, and instead of addressing the feedback, they gaslight you and say it’s your fault. It’s your fault that there’s black mold and a sewage stench in the room. It’s your fault that the photos on booking websites have nothing to do with reality. And, of course, there’s no mention that there are several variations of rooms. Oh, and about the “renovation”—the bathrooms in these rooms are the same as they were 15 years ago. Check out older reviews and try to spot 10 differences. Don’t expect any...

I came here with my fiancée to have our annual pre-Christmas holiday trip. My comments: “You get what you pay for”.

Pros:

Hotel/Room: Easy to find due to the big signage, instagrammable decor/fixtures/ambience, daily clean towels, additional tissue rolls, topped up water bottles, cleanliness of room and entire hotel is consistent. You will always see their staff cleaning one area or another. Room was spacious enough. Service: If you request for anything, they will ensure your needs are attended immediately. They are very strict on their no drugs rule and accommodating to strangers entering the hotel. Location: Close to a lot of amenities (dry cleaning, ready to eat food, massage parlours, grocery store, 7-11 and train line, etc.)

Cons:

Hotel/Room: Baby cockroaches found daily in the bathroom, room entry area (where you store your shoes) and the bedroom carpet area. Loud noises of banging and clanging starting anywhere from 1.30am-2.00am and will last for some time (coming from Hyatt Regency next door). Plug point locations not the most convenient. Could have more fixtures or place to put things (tables, shelves). Service-Reception staff friendliness is questionable, dependent on their moods they might greet and smile at you, they might give you a judgy look or they might blatantly ignore you when you are talking to them (no eye contact, no words to reaffirm they acknowledge what you are saying, you’re not even sure if they are listening). Also please always latch your doors or try not to walk around naked/semi naked because the housekeeping will barge in without knocking or apologising (probably due to the language barrier), even though the room’s “occupied” light up box is on. Location-Area is very dodgy especially at night if you’re coming back from a day out or just wanting to go out at night to catch the nightlife. Advisable to not walk alone if you are a woman and also to always watch...

I took a chance when I read the review but I have always preferred newer hotels. This place is definitely very instagrammable and the place looks exactly like it is in photos!

I booked a standard room with kind size bed.

Now Pros : The room including bathroom is spacious and well-designed with detailed thoughts put into not only the layout but the materials used too. Bathrooms accesories were Toto brand. Not something i expect for a 2 star hotel.

Hairdryer, mini fridge, safety box, hot shower is always available. I like the way they design the bathroom. It keeps the toilet area dry. Tiles colour are bright and easy to clean.

The room floor is engineered wood tiles I think. The floor at the bed area is not as cold as normal tiles at the mirror area which is great.

Room is minimalist yet practical.

They have lights at the corridor to indicate if the rooms are occupied or not so you won’t get cleaner banging your door to clean. Cleaning provided daily and staff was helpful. You can choose to place your card at reception whenever you go out or keep it with you. Reason is they are afraid you will lose your deposit if you lose your card.

My room light was on when I came back one night because I left my card in the room and the staff assisted me to unlock my door 😅

3 mins walk to Nana BTS and about 7mins walk to Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT.

Cons : mosquitoes. They do warn you to close the door to prevent mosquito from coming in. I killed 3-5 mosquitoes each night there. For door and sounds from other unit, it was minimal & bearable to me because nearly all hotels have such issue 😅

Secondly, because this area is so near Nana, it is not the best place for family to stay and to me it was hard to get local food at local price.

Overall, I love this hotel and it’s concept but not...

Our stay at the Miami Hotel began like the opening act of a promising play. The location—oh, the location!—is superb, just a short stroll from Nana BTS, set perfectly amidst the vibrant heartbeat of Bangkok. The hotel’s aesthetic, a nod to post-modern chic, offered a feast for the eyes, and the price? Fairly reasonable at the time of booking. For a moment, it seemed like we’d struck gold. But then, the curtain fell. We arrived early, eager to start our stay, and having already requested an early check-in, we were ready to pay the extra fee, as one does. The staff, however, seemed less than enthused by our arrival. A simple request met with a cool, almost icy reception. Only when money was mentioned did the tone change—suddenly, politeness made an appearance, but the damage was done. And then, the noise. The walls were paper-thin, as if conspiring with the bustling road outside to ensure we were never at peace. Every honk, every voice from the neighboring rooms, was our uninvited guest. Soundproofing, it seems, was just a suggestion. The beds, initially seeming fine, betrayed us in the dead of night. Bed bug nymphs! Invisible saboteurs, leaving their mark on our skin. Sleep became a battle, and we were the unwilling participants. The bathroom? Permanently haunted by the stench of… let’s just say it was unpleasant. The shower, an exercise in frustration, with barely any space to place our toiletries. Who even uses those lackluster hotel products unless they’re staying at a five-star? And let’s not forget the towels—'fresh' in name only, with a lingering dampness and the unmistakable scent of old carpet. A stay at the Miami Hotel, where first impressions deceive, and each act reveals a new disappointment.
