Delicious Thai food Near Nana BTS (with a Quirky Waitlist)

Krua Khun Puk, tucked away near Nana BTS, is a great spot for an authentic Thai meal in a central location. Don't be fooled by the limited outdoor seating - there are tables inside too! Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak hours.

Here's the thing: Krua Khun Puk has its own unique way of handling the waitlist. You'll get a handwritten number on a scrap of paper, which might get crossed out, updated, or even shuffled around a bit. It's all part of the charm (and maybe a little confusing!), but just hang close and watch the show.

Once you're seated, the delicious food takes center stage. The green curry fried rice and chicken basil rice are both must-tries, packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. And don't miss the mango sticky rice from the stall outside - it's a classic Thai dessert done right.

Price-wise, Krua Khun Puk is very budget-friendly, making it a great option for all kinds of travellers.

Here's the summary:

Location: Central and convenient, right next to Nana BTS. Atmosphere: Bustling and lively, with a quirky waitlist system. Food: Delicious and authentic Thai, with highlights like green curry fried rice, chicken basil rice, and mango sticky rice. Price: Budget-friendly and great value for money. Overall: A hidden gem worth checking out for its tasty food, central location, and unique waitlist experience.

Some Tips based on what we did as well:

Be prepared for a possible wait, especially during peak hours. Keep an eye on your handwritten number! Share dishes to try a wider variety of their amazing options. Don't skip the mango sticky rice!

Krua Khun Puk may not be your average restaurant, but its delicious food, friendly atmosphere, and quirky waitlist make it a memorable Bangkok experience. So, if you're looking for a tasty and affordable Thai meal with a dash of something different and happen to be around Sukhumvit area, be sure to add Krua Khun Puk to...

Krua Khun Puk in Bangkok, Thailand, truly merits a 5-star review. This family restaurant offers an outstanding selection of Thai cuisine that always hits the mark. You can savor delectable Thai cuisine while taking in the lively street life of Bangkok city.

The stir-fried chicken, seafood, and beef dishes are consistently excellent, showcasing the restaurant's culinary expertise.

Among my favorites are the green curry and noodle soup, both of which are incredibly delicious and satisfying. If you're a fan of Som Tam, you'll find some excellent options to tantalize your taste buds.

One of the standout features is the ever-fresh young coconuts, ensuring a refreshing and invigorating drink with each visit. The dedication to maintaining quality is evident in every detail. Their coconut and yuzu coffee is an absolute treat for the taste buds. The Mango sticky rice dessert is absolutely delightful.

What truly sets Krua Khun Puk apart is the warm and professional service. The staff is exceptionally warm and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure your dining experience is truly outstanding!!

I make it a point to visit every time I’m in Bangkok, and the restaurant consistently delivers. It's a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence. Krua Khun Puk is a must-visit for anyone looking for delectable Thai cuisine, friendly service, and a consistently outstanding dining...

OK- here is an updated review on Krua Khun PUK restaurant.July 2025 brings a whole new restaurant which has been revamped with expansion. It reveals a nice new feel and much larger than previous. On my 3visits in the first week l noticed the staff were all so happy and so attentive which was refreshing to see. The service was 5levels up from previous years and this is all the restaurant needed as the food has always been exceptional in every way. Prices didn’t change a lot even with inflation. Excellent effort to each and everyone here🙏🏻. #2 review 2years ago =This would be more stars if only the staff would lift their game. The food and prices are fantastic and the location is excellent with different areas of seating. Every time l come here the staff are very bland in attitude and sometimes just look at you even when you walk in and sit down. It can take them 20mins to bring you a menu and most of the time you have to ask for one. It’s not a big restaurant so there’s no excuse. We are customers ok, we are both doing each other a favour so wear a SMILE as that alone doesn’t cost you anything and goes a very long way towards your business. I must add that the man that is in charge of the noodle station on the side alley adjacent to the restaurant is always kind and smiling and he is by far the most busiest out of all the staff. Maybe he can educate the...
