I have been visiting Bangkok since 1992, my favourite place in the world. I'm now lucky enough to live in Thailand and visit Bangkok once, sometimes twice a month, for a 3 or 4 night break. Was recommended to the Night Hotel and have stayed here about 6 times in the past few months. I normally stick to the same hotel if I like it (unless rates for when want to go get silly).
First stay was in the Gold Suite, and I absolutely loved it. Very impressed with some of the touches and useability of the room, especially dimmer lighting, numerous charging points, fact shower doesn't flood the floor as it is correctly designed (you'd be amazed how many hotels in Thailand have flooding issues), and many other small touches. The light switches do get a bit confusing though, as there are so many of them ! Air con was quiet and curtains kept the light out. This room has a separate living area, and if I'm being honest, this space was a bit depressing, as nothing much on the walls and the sofa in one end didn't face the tv ... so bad use of space, although not sure what the solution would be.
Second stay, I booked the cheapest room as it was only 2 nights. The cheaper rooms are located in building one (where the breakfast is). For the price it was excellent, just a little bit less plush than other rooms, not quite as well apoointed and maybe a bit older. One complaint ... I had a room next to housekeeping area .... why do they have to shout when talking to each other in the corridors ... sound echos, and both mornings I was woken by noise housekeeping outside my room at "too early a time".
Breakfasts are good, obviously not 5 star standard, but as good, or slightly better, than most hotels of this class. Seating is comfortable and staff friendly.
I'm giving this hotel 5 stars .... I love it. I think it represents good value for money, the check in staff are nearly all the most friendly and welcoming I have ever had in Bangkok (and that's a lot), and that sets you up for a good mood in your stay. I also think this hotel is a bit different or quirky, and I love managements reply to some reviews, as it's refreshing to read the real facts, as some reviewers are clearly rude and ignorant.
Just to balance, because a good hotel should always look to improve. I think housekeeping could do better ... issues I've had .... empty used water bottle on table first stay, flooding on floor in bedroom driving me mad (I thought was from bath but couldn't see where it was coming from), turned out housekeeping hadn't closed fridge in the cuoboard properly and water was coming from there. Have had hairs in the bath twice, dirty orange type water in bath once (because not used and should be run through by housekeeping, otherwise water goes funny from the pipes) and sadly worst of all, sheets dirty from a bloodied dead insect with other stains ... I don't think bedbugs ... but something. This shouldn't really happen in a hotel of this class. Lastly, I'm reading a lot of reviews here from guests angry about deposits being kept. I never had an issue until my last stay. My water fell off the side table onto the bed, no cleaning issues as bedding would be cleaned anyway, but the manner in which this was handled was a bit off. He asked me "what is it" .. suggesting I had suffered from a personal accident ... this was embarrassing. I wasn't charged, hopefully because they know I am a regular guest, but reading your other reviews regarding deposits being kept, I think it would be advisable to review the tipping point in which front desk seem to want to justify charging .... it is a hotel and wear and tear in everyday use will happen. As I said, excellent in nearly everything, but housekeeping could be improved and I'm attaching photos of issues to help you guys, not complain and to demonstrate accuracy.
Finally, the white tiger in reception is the star of the show...

So far
Room - We booked via the night hotel website and managed to secure a deal that gave us a upgrade into a Gold Suite. The suite is huge, with a seperate lounge area, the bathroom is large and specious. Great pillows, mattress is good, not hard by my standard and my mattress at home is an extra plush mattress and I find the hotel one comfortable. The cleaner comes everyday with clean towels etc. Very clean and suitable for all our needs.
Breakfast - absolutely perfect, variety of breakfast food from continental, Asian and western, and believe me there is plenty. Eggs cooked fresh every morning how ever you like them. I've read a few reviews and people saying it's not satisfactory or not enough of an Asian breakfast, that is not true. There is plenty of everything in terms of breakfast food. There is also plenty of smiles and warm welcomes from the team that serve/ host breakfast. It is wonderful to be greeted with such big smiles and attentiveness first thing in the morning. Also, the home made fresh veggie/ juice shots are delicious.
Building - So before booking I read reviews that people said there was a road between building 1 (breakfast served) and building 2 (rooftop pool). This is not a road like we western folk would think, it's probably 10 steps or less. This is such a over dramatic statement calling it a road, I've seen alley ways bigger. Is it an inconvenience, No not at all. Plus, since staying here a member of staff has also been out to make sure crossing is safe. Not because its hard, but I think because some people may not be use to Bangkok drivers i.e. tuk tuks/ mopeds/ traffic flow.
Reception - I haven't had much interaction with the reception staff only booking in, so can't really comment. However they are friendly when walking through reception. You need to leave 1000bht deposit, but not uncommon these days.
Location - The location is superb. I have stayed in Sukhumvit twice before and Night hotel has been the best location so far.
Pool - The pool is fine, please remember this is Not a resort, you are in the middle of Sukhumvit, It's nice for a dip/ swim to cool off with lots of sun lounges and a bar area.
Wifi -...
Read more4.5/5: A great hotel with solid amenities, clean spaces, and well-designed rooms.
I enjoyed my stay here! My room, the Gold King Suite, was spacious, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The price that I paid per night (around $50) was sensible, as I feel that I got enough value out of the room for that price. I slept quite well in the room, as the bed is very comfy and the pillows are squishy. Picture attached.
One huge positive for me was the lighting! There are ceiling lights, a small chandelier, and even blue lights running through the room. This gave me a lot of lighting options, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Location is a 9/10 for me. If you’re into partying, great! This hotel is right between Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy, so you can walk to either quite easily. 7-11 is close by as well. Unfortunately, the road in front of the hotel doesn’t have a sidewalk, making it uncomfortable to walk on. Also, the restaurants around here are, in my opinion, not that great. They’re overpriced and mostly foreign options. I didn’t leave my home in the West just to eat Western food! This isn’t the hotel’s fault so I won’t be too harsh, but this info is worth knowing should you choose to stay here.
One small negative was that when I checked in, I was taken to a room with a bathtub, instead of the big walk-in shower that the photos displayed. I didn’t even realize there were 2 options; I don’t take baths, so I requested a room change, which was easily fulfilled. I think next time, they should ask customers upon check-in which they would prefer between the two options, as this would save time for everyone involved.
I felt the ladies at the front-desk were curt and rude occasionally when speaking to them. Upon first entering the hotel, instead of a “welcome to the Dream Hotel,” I was instead met with “are you checking in?” in a very annoyed tone. Not a great first impression, sadly. Maybe that’s simply how they talk, but I didn’t like that. Otherwise, the staff here is quite nice. Housekeeping provided me extra towels upon request, which I appreciated, and the hotel arranged a taxi for me to the airport. Again, highly appreciated.
The pool is nice, as well as the restaurant/bar next to it. Great for these hot summers in Bangkok!
Overall, I definitely enjoyed my stay and would recommend this...
