I am an Indian and like other most Indians I also like to order and have some good delicious Indian food whenever I am on a trip anywhere Abroad. With similar feelings and expectations I was in Bangkok and happen to visit this restaurant. I ordered their Non Veg Platter( which included one Daal, Mix veg ,rice, Laccha Paratha and one naan, Raayta and one sweet dish which was gulab Jamun, in chicken they served me chicken curry which was brown in color but in the menu they have written chicken tikka masala) FIrstly, the menu had chicken tikkka masala written in it and by far what I know that in the recipe of chicken tikka masala it has to be boneless chicken, in place of the chicken tikka masala they served me some chicken curry(with bone) which I did not approve of so I got it changed to the original chicken tikka masala which took 10 minutes additionally while I ate almost all of my naan and paratha.

Secondly, the chicken served by them had a foul smell because of which I could not eat it and in the pictures it can be seen that I have left it intact.

Thirdly, the entire thaali was average in taste, though the portion was good and can be good for one person.

Fourthly, the time of preparation was 25 minutes and additionally it took 10 more minutes to get my chicken tika masala which was below average in taste.

Fifthly, the location is good but if a person is looking for a pure vegetarian food he can SIMPLY SKIP THIS RESTAURANT AND GO TO DOSA KING WHICH IS RIGHT CLOSELY LOCATED NEAR THIS RESTAURANT, I happen eat food in that restaurant it is very good in comparison to this Dum Handi Biryani.

Sixthly, the rates of this restaurant are on the higher side as compared to other nearby restaurants. I have heard that the biryani that this restaurant serves is good, may be one can try biryani here but persons looking for North Indian Thaali (platter) can simply avoid this restaurant.

Seventhly, the total billing amount was 441 Baht( bill Picture uploaded) which is close to 1146/- INR which is way too much for the quality and taste...

So my friend and I went here after our meeting and then waiting for my CBD oil massage 💆🏻‍♀️ around the corner and I have been meaning to come to this restaurant many times, however, with all the number of choices of restaurants in Bangkok, it’s such a hard decision because everyone strives to please the customer which is so amazing and I decided to go here because I was dying to try the biryani here!

Because I heard very good things about the biryani and the food in general here I decided to try it today!

We had a mutton Hydrabadi biryani, Chicken khurchan with rumali roti which was super hot and steamy! I loved it!!

Owned by a gentleman from Banglore this place has many outlets!

The biyrani is prepared fresh, so be prepared to wait about 30 minutes to get your order because they make it fresh and then it “steeps” in a clay pot and the flavours are divine!! When they open the clay pot the biryani is hot and steaming, and the smell of the biryani is so incredible and the taste 👅 was WOW!!

Truly amazing!!

I normally don’t drink the Indian tea because it has sugar or too much milk for me, but for some reason I had 2 cups today to because it tasted really good as well!

I will definitely be back to eat in. If not, I will definitely be ordering out.

I’ve visited this biryani restaurant in Bangkok three times now, and unfortunately, my experience has gone downhill each time.

First Visit: The biryani was absolutely delicious – so good that I ended up having two servings. The rice was flavorful, the chicken was perfectly cooked, and the spices were well-balanced. I gave them a well-deserved 5-star review after that visit.

Second Visit: The same biryani that impressed me before was a disappointment this time. The flavor was off, and it lacked the balance that made it great the first time. Still, I didn’t change my review, hoping it was just a one-off mistake.

Third Visit (Today): I regret saying this, but the biryani was worse than before. It was overly spicy, to the point that all I could taste was the spice – no flavor of the rice, no proper seasoning for the chicken. It didn’t feel like an authentic Hyderabadi biryani at all.

I’m not sure what happened to the quality control, but based on this decline, I can only give 1 star (or less, if that were an option). Consistency is key in food, and unfortunately, this place failed to deliver on that.

If they can return to the quality of my first visit, it might be worth trying again, but for now, I can’t...

We had an exceptional lunch today at Dum Handi Biryani in Soi 11. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. We started with Garlic Naan, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The highlight of our meal was the Chicken Hyderabad Biryani. The biryani was aromatic and richly spiced, with tender pieces of chicken that melted in our mouths. For drinks, we opted for the fresh lime soda, which was refreshing and complemented our meal perfectly. The service was outstanding—staff were attentive, friendly, and ensured we had everything we needed promptly. Although there is a 17% service charge and tax, this is expected given the location in a tourist area. Overall, Dum Handi Biryani offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a vibrant atmosphere. We highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine.
