Very attentive (waitresses stood behind us most of the time during dinner), and very personable sushi chefs. Unfortunately, the quality for the price was not there. It's hard to criticize as a fellow Japanese, but this Japanese managed sushi restaurant was outshined by other omakase joints that are managed by Thai sushi chefs. My wife and I agree that there are a lot of other places in Bangkok now that offer more value and better tasting courses for the same price, or cheaper. We did the Autumn 14 piece omakase course. Everything was decent, but the flavors and balance was not thought through. Too much sushi rice for all nigiri, the maguro quality was NOT good (we've had better elsewhere, even in Vietnam), and the minor dishes like the tamago roll or dessert were only mediocre. The tamago was like eating a previously frozen custard dessert that turned into rubber, the dessert was a houji-cha tiramisu that didn't have any flavor. Not to mention, we were given a menu of what was going to be on the course, but they don't follow it in order whatsoever; it was hard to figure out which sushi we had left because they kept skipping around (and not following a particular order as we noticed a couple and family sitting next to us ordered the same course but got different items on the menu at different times from us). Lastly, the interior was nice and very modern Japanese, but they had 4 split acs they had to keep turning on and off because one dish (spoiler alert) included a smoke bubble they create with a bubble gun to land on the sushi dish, and if they kept the acs on would cause the smoke bubble to blow...

Let me tell you honestly, it was hard to find the place… parked inside Young Place (free parking) and walked over. It was raining and we weren’t exactly sure where it was. We followed Google maps to find in down a sketchy alley with a bright sign that says Sushi Juban.

Looks super authentic Japanese style building. When we entered it felt like we really entered a Japanese restaurant. The walls decorated with liquor and the interior was wooden designed.

The waitresses are Thai but will speak English and the Chefs and originally from Japan.

They get their fish directly from Japan and receive them twice a week Tuesday and Friday (we went on a Saturday night)

The food was fresh and delicious. The chefs really have an art and passion when making the sushi. Like other Omakases, the sushi is already prepared with wasabi, some have it and some don’t. Ginger is provided to clear the palate after each sushi.

We went for the 14 course menus which was about 3000 baht per person. We also paid a 2000 baht deposit fee when booking which they return to you when you ask for the bill. There is also a la carte options.

I tend to eat a lot so I wasn’t really full at the end but was satisfied with what I ate.

Atmosphere was on a quiet side, maybe not many people know of the place but it was a great experience. I would still make a reservation just in case.

Thank you to Chef Fukushima who was a great host for our dinner....

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi Juban an omakase restaurant that truly embodies the essence of Japanese culinary artistry. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm atmosphere and the inviting scent of fresh seafood.

Ambiance The ambiance was serene and elegant, with minimalist decor that allowed the food to take center stage. Soft lighting and traditional Japanese elements created a relaxing environment, perfect for enjoying a multi-course meal.

Service The service was impeccable. The chef was not only skilled but also passionate about each dish he presented. He took the time to explain the ingredients and preparation techniques, which added a personal touch to the dining experience.

The Meal The omakase menu was a delightful journey through seasonal flavors. Each course was beautifully presented, highlighting the freshness and quality of the ingredients.

Conclusion Overall, my experience at Sushi Juban was exceptional. The combination of exquisite food, attentive service, and a calming ambiance made it a memorable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to explore the true art of Japanese cuisine. I can't...

Updated on 18 Nov The restaurant totally ignore my feedback. Please be careful of this place. You will be able to see the black spots found on the salmon they served. It is not fresh. ____________________________________________ I went to try this Omakase for lunch while I was in Bangkok last Sunday as the reviews on Google are good. The food is definitely not value for money. The meal served and completed less than an hour (basically not much details for each course served). I had posted all the pictures of the food I was served over the lunch. The fish I eaten was not fresh (I have been to other Omakase restaurants at different countries hence the comparison is obvious). I started to diarrhoea since Sunday evening until now (Tuesday evening) even I have visited the doctor on Monday evening and taken the medication. Please read other 1 star review given by other customers. I regretted visiting this restaurant during my trip to Bangkok.
