Izakaya Mori Mori — Restaurant in Khlong Toei Nuea Subdistrict

I don't normally write bad reviews, however, my experience at this particular establishment was so horrific that I felt I should warn people about the owners who treated me, the customer, so poorly and disrespectfully. They put misleading information on the menu. I ordered a California roll (which even had a picture on the menu) and what I got was a strange roll with an enormous amount of mayonnaise. I tried scraping off the mayo but it still tasted awful. I did not eat the rest. Normally, a restaurant will remove that item from the bill, but they refused. When I refused to pay for this item the waiters called the owner who then called in reinforcements of several men to try and intimidate me, a solo female traveler. They tried to blame me and tell me that if I didn't like mayonnaise I should have said so before I ordered (as everyone knows California rolls don't have mayonnaise, nor did the picture indicate it). Eventually their intimidation worked and fearing for my safety I relented. No customer should be treated this way. Beware...

I only had 200 baht with me, I ordered suhsi for 130 baht and water for 39 baht. That was already pretty expensive. When I wanted to pay they told me I needed to pay 233 baht. Apparently they calculate a service fee and do not include vat in their prices? As a european this caught me off guard. Because I did not have enough money I had to go to the nearest atm and pay the atm fee of 220 baht. In the end I have payed 453 baht for 6 pieces of sushi and a water? As someone else wrote, nice service and kind staff, but I was surprised at the price at the end. There was 10% service change and 7% tax that I didn’t expect and which wasn’t added at other Sukhumvit restaurants I went to this week. 500 Baht at a good irish restaurant was amazing compared to this one for 820 Baht in retrospect.
