The Pacific City Club is a private members club. I got in during a recent trip to Bangkok using a reciprocal membership. The club is definitely old school, with lots of wood paneling, etc. I saw a comment that the floors are a bit worse for wear, but this is part of the charm. The club has a 'lived-in' vibe that feels welcoming to an out-of-town guest. We went for early cocktails, and only a handful of people were using the facilities. Service was professional, and the drinks were well prepared and served with a bowl of cashews. The cigar room is small but offers a good selection of good cigars. I went up to take a look at the spa and gym. The gym is basic, but there are good views from the treadmills, and they do offer personal training services. The spa offers a wide variety of treatments. The view is incredible, perched high above the city with sweeping sights of the Bangkok skyline. Both the restaurant and the clubhouse are tastefully designed.
Every dish was beautifully presented and well-balanced in flavor—from the amuse-bouche to the steak to the Dover sole. Nothing missed the mark. The flavors are approachable and Thai-palate-friendly—easy to enjoy, easy to love.
