HOBS (at Groove, CentralWorld) — Restaurant in Pathum Wan Subdistrict

2022: Sorry but I have to remove two stars. If you go here for beer I would still say four. I had the beef burger twice and the first time it was a nice medium rare with crispy bacon. But second time it was well done with medium rare bacon and way too much sallad. We decided to have dry martini and mojito. The dry martion was vermut with a dash of gin and old olives. The mojoto had white sugar that was not dissolved.

2019: Quite an impressive beer menu. Much larger than the food one. The beer bar is also impressive. I only wish I had more time here. And that they started serving beer before 5 PM. We came inn a little early and started on the food a Cesar salad that was impressively large followed by pigs knuckle and hamburger. The potato mash, gravy and sauerkraut that came with the pigs knuckle were cute (read small). The burger was tall and the bottom bun soggy from dressing and thin. But otherwise the burger was good. Had dinner here because the menu looked good but was met with bad service and staff informing us that almost every beer we picked out (both local and imported) were not available. On top of that, one of the starters we ordered was really spicy (sausage) but this is not stated on the menu nor did the wait staff inform us.

The area itself is also very noisy because of loud music coming from next door and upstairs. So take note, if you want a romantic/ intimate atmosphere, this isn’t the place.

Food-wise aside from the starter we got, my pasta was good, but the burger was only so-so, in fact, my partner got a bit of a stomachache after eating it so not sure exactly what went wrong with it.

Sadly, aside from the pasta, I don’t think I will return to this place, especially since it’s even a bit expensive considering...

I visited your place today at 3:40 PM and waited 20 minutes for your opening at 4:00 PM. However, when I was finally handed a menu, the waiter informed me that it is not possible to order any beer or alcohol until 5:00 PM. Instead, only kitchen dishes were available during that time.

This raises a simple question: why bother opening at 4:00 PM if your bar specializes in beer, yet it’s impossible to order any? This policy makes no sense and leaves a poor impression, especially for a venue that advertises itself as a beer bar.

In the end, I went upstairs to the second floor of the shopping center, where I had no trouble ordering a beer in another establishment.

This experience was deeply disappointing, and I won’t be returning. I suggest rethinking your policies to avoid losing...
