Greyhound offers consistently good Thai - fusion food.
My favourites -: Complicated Noodles Prawn Pasta Coconut Crepe Cake Warm Apple Crumble
Quite Good-: Mussels in Tomato - based Soup Prawn Bisque
Not Nice-: Crab Corn Fritters Beef Steak with Sticky Rice Beef Burger
The branch at Central World Groove has one of the nicest designs but it is starting to shown signs of tirelessness. I always dine here as it is located in between Platinum Mall and my hotel at Siam.
We requested for the payment to be spilt into 4 bills among the 8 of us and the staff readily. The staff was clear - minded and the breakdown of the respective bill was correct.
The service and hospitality is just average. They are not rude but they are not warm. They are not offensive but they could do with a smile. They are not proactive but they did the job.
On my recent trip, I also dined at Greyhound @ Central Groove, Roast at The Commons and Petite Audrey at Siam Center . The service and hospitality at Roast and Petite Audrey were first class. They were warm, friendly, fast, proactive and clear - minded. They were effective in communicating with us .
To me, Greyhound is the forerunner in the food industry. However, on this trip, I experienced that Roast and Petite Audrey have...
Read moreWas there this evening around almost 9pm. Very quiet from what I have used to seen.
Three tables occupied.
When I enter the service team came out from the kitchen. And the lady at the cashier first thing to do was look at the phone (checking the time) she told the service staff in Thai 'ask to order the food within 5 mins as the kitchen will close' I thought the restaurant was supposed to close at 10pm. I would have understand if the time was 9:30 or 9:45pm.
So the service staff told me to order within 5 mins. And as I asked why he said the kitchen will close. Which means the kitchen closes at 9:15pm?
Then they should advertise as the last order is at 9:15 pm restaurant closing time 10pm.
I said in Thai that looks like they don't need money and left.
Maybe because my skin color is dark? Maybe they are exhausted from a busy day? Maybe it is the actual operating hours?
Anyway went and had a great meal elsewhere.
Would not.return. thank you for the past...
Read moreGroove at Centralworld gets top marks for ambience, chillax atmosphere and decor. It's the kind of place I would love to return to again and again just to soak in the vibrant yet not garish vibe in the air.
Greyhound cafe was good but not great. Service was average (no one was at the counter so we walked right in and seated ourselves), one for one draft Heineken at happy hour was great (fresh beer!), there was free bun with small pat of butter given when we ordered (I didn't eat it, but my husband said it was well toasted)
We ordered the famous fried chicken wings (there were 11 half pieces... was there supposed to be 12?), which were crispy and well seasoned, piping hot and delicious. I had the crab pasta with cream sauce, which was generous with crab meat, fish roe and (unfortunately) garlic. The cream sauce was very rich and nice texture, but tomato taste was utterly drowned by garlic (my husband loved it though). Maybe I should try another...
