This restaurant is fully vegan, which I truly appreciate as a vegan diner. However, for me, that alone isn’t enough to merit a full five stars. While the concept is strong, the service lacked the usual warmth and genuine smiles I’ve come to associate with Thai hospitality. The food selection was impressive — from breakfast salads and soups to Thai and Western dishes. However, the execution was mixed. I ordered the spinach–cheese bake, and unfortunately, the chef overlooked a basic principle: a creamy sauce works best when paired with some textural contrast. The dish had the uniform texture of purée, and the sauce itself lacked seasoning and depth, missing the expected umami from a “cheesy” base. This is definitely a dish with room for improvement.
On a brighter note, the satay tofu vegetable salad was much better — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. I also tried the sweet banana baked roti, which, while promising, wasn’t quite crisp enough and ended up a little too soft and mushy.
Overall, I applaud the initiative and see that the restaurant attracts many non-vegan guests, which is, in my opinion, a great indicator of a vegan restaurant’s success. However, I believe raising both the service and execution standards would take this place from good to truly...
Read moreThe store location is easy to access and locate. Decor and setting is good. The food portion is unfortunately small (for the two main dishes I tried).
Green curry spaghetti - small portion. Spaghetti noodles were alright, but different from the regular durum wheat spaghetti available in western countries or proper western food.. Green curry was really sweet with mild space. Red chilies were used but no chili padi (small, hot chilis) was used.
Vegan pulled pork burger - vegan pulled pork was heavily flavoured with soy sauce or shoyu. Burger arrived with vegan mayo (quite nice with refreshing onion bits for crunch and flavour bursts) but the BBQ and Ketchup sauces were underwhelming.
Coleslaw salad and Ceasar salads were also disappointing. Vegan Parmesan cheese was bland.
Vegan meat balls - The saving grace was the almond mushroom vegan meatballs. These were tasty but not overwhelming. They had enough bite and consistency to remain as meatballs in the marinara sauce and the white sauce that they added to it.
Other issues - a spoon we were given actually had a hole in the metal, a chunk had broken off (?) or maybe someone bit into it really hard...
The salad bowl had two chips that resulted in sharp points on the bowl. This is...
