Tbh, İ do not understand the hype. I tried multiple places in the neighborhood and Coffee Club is just average with higher prices, nothing more, nothing less.
Pros: Staff is very kind and attentive. I even saw one waitress trying to explain everything in the menu to an old Japanese lady who did not speak English but was asking multiple questions.
Has a modern decoration and vibe. Europeans will be reminded of cafes back home.
Cons: Jam-packed! I arrived at 11am and it took half an hour to be served breakfast.
Food is just average. I tried the same breakfast in Uncle Joe’s yesterday, it was MUCH MUCH better and around 25% cheaper!
Since it is too big for Phuket cafe standards and is full of customers, WiFi was super slow.
Prices are 25%-30% marked up! They sure do have a greater variety of options for drinks and some bakeries but if you are not going for a fancy drink or bakery, paying more for the average food you can have anywhere does not make sense.
They ask people to give 5 stars during check out/payment and are literally waiting for the Google review to be completed to get their payment. WTH?
I heard some people complaining about the 10% service charge but tbh, that’s fair. The waiter and waitresses are working non-stop in a jam-packed cafe, kind and attentive, and 10% is a reasonable amount in many countries. So that’s fair.
Lastly, just walk few meters and try Uncle Joe cafe. I have been going there for few days but wanted to try Coffee Club after seeing the reviews. Anyhow, in Uncle Joe you will have the same food, better quality, 25%-30% cheaper in a much much smaller place meaning you will be served faster and have faster wifi. Make...
Read moreWe just had brunch here. It’s very aesthetically appealing but very expensive. We literally paid the same kind of prices we pay in London for food and drinks. No wonder there was very little clientele during lunch hour (two tables besides ours).
I had the Nutella pancakes, a soy mocaccino, my partner had the coconut pancakes and an iced latte, and my daughter had the ham and cheese sandwich, raspberry whipped smoothie of delight whose photo I’ve included in this reviews. While the food was nice, my Nutella pancakes were dry. No matter what topping, pancakes always need syrup. They were still very tasty, the coconut pancakes were lovely, as was the ham and cheese sandwich.
While the restaurant was clean and air conditioned, the toilet was not. It was hot, dirty and smelled funny. So not much different from coffee houses in London but a stark contrast with how not busy the staff were here as opposed to the hundreds of bodies using the toilets in the busy coffee houses in London.
This place could do with dropping their prices to compete with established coffee houses like Starbucks because that’s was foreigners are familiar with and will go to first. It’s better than Starbucks by several miles, it’s just cost...
Read moreNot a good service at all. Ordered delivery via Grab. Order was wrong. As per the actual receipt I ordered a truffle mushroom pasta & received a truffle mushroom muffin instead. Yes an actual muffin. I have ordered this pasta previously & it is actually pasta. Both coffees weren’t packaged & sealed correctly leaving the mouth opening of the lid open, so on a delivery scooter this didn’t travel well. Both coffees were at best only 1/2 full after spillage leaving l the bag dripping wet with coffee. Order was late & well past the estimate delivery time. 7 mins ride to deliver & order took over an hour to arrive & I paid extra for what is called ‘priority delivery’. I expected more for the extra you pay compared to other alternatives available. I was wrong in thinking a large chain like the Coffee Club would have higher or at least reasonable standards, well certainly should have been a lot better than this service. Only 50% of the order was salvageable. Sadly, the coffees are no joy & I am without the pasta I ordered as a meal. An expensive fail by me...
