Having lived for almost 50 days on Pan Road, Bangkok, I had the chance to eat at Chennai Kitchen multiple times. I have been fair and being Indian gave the restaurant a few chances in the hope that their quality and food would improve. Boy, was I wrong. Not only that, on my last visit, I ordered for a take away - 2 Masala Dosas, Four Vadas and Two Sets of pooris. The lady informed me that for each Item there will be a 10bht packing charge. I agreed and she billed me 20bht extra for two Dosas, 20bht extra for two poori sets and 10 BHT extra for the four vadas. Based on this charge, I assumed I would get 2 separate Dosas packed, two separate pooris packed and then the 4 vadas in one packet... Nope, what happened was I got three packs.... Dosas together, Vadas together and pooris together... On asking her Why Was it packed this way but charged separately, the answer was in Thailand we do it that way and no one has complained till now, only I as an Indian was complaining. Anyways, coming to the quality of the food - dismal. Sambhar was watery, like it has been thinned to make more quantity and the chutney was not seasoned. Just grated coconut with lots of water and salt. The Dosa was paper thin and small. The only redeeming point was the vada and the poori... Nevertheless, it's safe to assume, I am never going back to this place again... I wouldn't recommend it even if you are dying, I would suggest the street food...

Read moreSuper disappointing experience. I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend and we each ordered a main dish with rice. After a short while I got my dish with rice and my girlfriend only got her rice. The waitress said her dish would be coming any minute.
After 30 minutes I had finished my meal (otherwise it would have been cold by now) and we were still waiting for the second dish. Her rice was already cold, of course. We asked the waitress several times when the second dish would be served and she always replied "one moment please". The table next to us, who had ordered after us, was cheerfully supplied with food again and again.
We decided to ask for the bill and leave without the second dish. At least we didn't have to pay for it. The owner said they forgot to cook it even though we asked for the second dish several times.
It's just our experience, the food was ok but we will never go to this...
